Edward POV
Carlisle is missing. He ran off after I slammed a lamp into the ground when I heard his thoughts about Bella. Here he is, telling me to stay away from her, when he already had his eye on her since the car accident. I could feel what he felt, though. I know they are probably fated. I don't need to be happy about it or tell either of them my thoughts though. Let him suffer, watching me with her.
Carlisle POV
I run to one of the cabins nearby. I need to be away from Bella but that doesn't mean I need to get out of the country. I don't even know her, yet I am here, barley able to control myself around her. If I didn't leave I'm not sure what would have happened.
I go inside and sit down on a couch. Guess I will read my books here for tonight. I can go back in the early morning, when I know she will be gone.
Bella POV
I heard a loud sound from downstairs and when I looked up, Carlisle was gone, replaced by Alice. What... the hell? I am confused, but Alice doesn't seem bothered by the face that Carlisle is nowhere to be seen now.
"What just happened..? "
Alice responds in a sing-song voice.
"Carlisle had an emergency. Now that you know we are vampires, I was hoping you would come downstairs and maybe watch a movie with us? It is a Friday after all. You could even stay the night if you wanted to, we have some bedrooms with beds in them. "
I think on it for a little while. "Sure, I would love to. "
I call Charlie and tell him I am staying the night with Alice, Carlisle's daughter. He approves quickly, telling me to have some fun with our "girl time" as he called it.
Alice hears his response and grabs my arm, practically dragging me downstairs.
Everyone else already knows what is going on also, as they are all sitting down.
Edward is silent, and not looking at me, and Esme just smiles sadly. Alice is the only happy one, she seems to not worry as much about Carlisle being gone. Suddenly, a pale man walks in with disheveled blonde hair and striking orange eyes. Looking now, all of their eyes look fairly similar, a shade of yellow/orange or darker orange/red. Must be a vampire thing.
Alice instantly rushes to the unknown man, who I assume is also a vampire. She kisses him on the cheek and she turns to me smiling. "Bella, this is Jasper. Jasper, this is our new friend Bella."
Jasper responds slowly. "A human friend?"
"Yes, love." Alice pulls him into the love seat, holding onto his arm and whispering into his ear.
I sit down next to Edward and the movie starts to play. It is about a mystical magic world, with schools dedicated to teaching people about magic. However, no one but me seems to be watching.
About 20 minutes into the movie, I am nearly falling asleep. Edward pulls softly at my sleeve and leans in whisper in my ear. "Are you tired?"
I find myself leaning my head on his shoulder, and nodding my head yes.
I can barely keep my eyes open now.
Edward picks me up, and even that doesn't make me want to wake up.
I feel him walking up the stairs, back to the room with books. Turns out that connected to that room is a smaller one with a bed. The sheets and blankets are royal blue, and looks like while it is clean, no one actually sleeps here.
