Neither of us said a single word as we walked down the corridors. Everyone was slightly taken aback by Alison's sudden outburst. We walked in silence. And not the nice kind of silence you get with friends, just a really awkward one.
Finally after what seemed like at least 3 hours Harriette spoke to Alison,
"Why are you so mad Alison?! I knew you were mad at Bobbie for not agreeing to come at first, but she came didn't she?! Why are you being so annoying?! Were trying to make the atmosphere happy, and you just shout at us. What is your problem?"
Alison turned around and stopped.
"You wouldn't understand" she growled.
Then it hit me, like a tonne of bricks. I completely forgot about that, however Alison didn't. She still had it fresh in her memory. My heart skipped a beat as I remembered the story-
*flashback*
I was walking home from school, after a very long day. I was tired. I had an after school club on this day, so I was walking on my own, bored out of my mind.
Normally I walked with at least 3 other people and we chatted. This time I was alone.
Suddenly something clutched my shoulders and I turned around, automatically punching the person behind in the face.
I heard a scream and then when my vision became clearer I saw Alison clutching her jaw in pain.
"Oh my god Alison!" I shouted "I'm so terribly sorry! I thought I was being kidnapped!"
I took out a pack of tissues from my bag, since she was bleeding and handed them to her, constantly muttering apologies.
"Its ok." She finally managed, "it was my fault. I shouldn't have jumped on you like that."
But as much as I tried to believe her that it was ok, I couldn't. She never talked to me again.
*flashback over*
That happened two whole years ago. She went to my primary school, and when I was in year six that terrible thing happened. Tears sprang into my eyes just at the thought of it, but I held them back making sure not to break down in front of Amelia and Harriette.
