Those Purple Petals

Chapter 2

I opened my eyes and was greeted with suffocating darkness. Yet somehow, I could see. I'm not sure how I could tell, given there was nothing to look at but that blackness, but I could. I blinked and tried to stand up, only to realize with a jolt that there was no ground. But... I didn't fall. Where am I and how did I get here? I wondered. 

Looking for a way out seemed like a good thing to do, so that's what I did. However, there was none, just darkness.
After walking a while I thought I saw a glimpse of a person for just a moment before it was swallowed up by that darkness. Cautiously, I walked towards where I thought I saw it and came across two inklings having a conversation. The one facing me stopped her friend from talking by pointing at me.
"What is it?"
"T-there's someone behind you.."
"If this is a prank I swear I'll-" upon turning to face me, the other inkling girl stopped mid-sentence and just stared for a minute.
"Who are you and.. how did you get here?"
I was surprised by how nervous she got until I realized there was a chance she hadn't spoken to anyone other than the other inkling with her for a while. "I'm Vian and uh.. I don't know how I got here..."
"Okay... well 'Vian..' I'm Red and this is Fuu. Also, you're in the void for some reason."
"I-I'm where?" I was surprised by how easily Red said it, but not by the conclusion probably due to the lack of anything.
"The void. Can't you hear me?" Red rolled her eyes.
"Calm down Red. It's probably a lot to take in." The other inkling, who was apparently named Fuu, chimed in more softly.
Red sighed. "Yeah, yeah. Just try not to be too annoying and we'll be fine." Fuu just shrugged and smiled. 
These two seem decent enough so I guess this is fine. At least until I figure out why I'm here and how to leave..
