BANG

Neil stood dumbly in front of Max, his arm outstretched protectively in front of him. His ears were pinned back and he was grimacing, waiting for the bullet to hit one of his body parts and envelope him in pain. Max stared at Neil from behind with an unamused expression on his face. Neil opened his eyes tentatively, perking his ears back up in confusion, the gun was aimed right at him, why wasn't he bleeding out by now?

The lady with the teddy bear mask was standing in front of the boys, arm outstretched to the right side of her, the gun pointing at the floor. The bullet landed between David's shoes, who put his hands up defensively, "Why are you shooting at me...?" He asked.

She removed her mask, revealing a women with tan skin, burned maroon hair kept up in a neat ponytail with fluffy bangs and two thick strands of hair hanging loosely around her face frame, and dangerous amethyst eyes. "Gwen," David announced.

'Huh? What? Does he know her?' Neil questioned in his head.

"Why am I shooting at you? Oh...I don't know, maybe 'cause you made me act as some thief, and point a gun at the kids?! What the hell is wrong with you?!" The latino snarled, leaning in his face, baring her teeth and pulling her ears back.

David kept his hands up, keeping his eyes closed and wearing his signature inviting smile. 'W-what is going on?' Neil asked himself, beads of sweat collecting on his forehead and his ears drooping in pure confusion.

"I-I'm sorry Gwen, but I wanted to see what he was capable of, and you guys just happened to be here," he explained, his voice light and playful.

"You and your stupid ideas," she grumbled, canines still bared threateningly. "So he's the new one then?"

"Yeah!" David gushed.

"He seems like a wimp, was he the best you could find?" Gwen questioned, one eyebrow raised in a mix of disappointment and amusement.

Neil cocked his head slightly to the left, hands pulled close to his chest in his characteristic pose, 'Are they talking about me..?' Max looked off to the side, hands resting comfortably in his hoodie pocket.

"You think so? He did beat Bonquisha with one kick though," David pointed out.

As if on cue, the woman in the bunny mask groaned, rubbing her head. "My head.." She moaned, grasping the attention of the two boys and the two adults.

"Get up Bon, you were kicked by a child. Come on," Gwen scolded, hands on her hips and a scowl on her face.

"That kid's kick hurt like hell! For real, is his leg made a steel or somethin'?!" She complained, taking off the mask to reveal the mystery woman. She had dark skin, black hair in a ponytail much like Gwen's and golden yellow eyes. She was very muscular and wore huge yellow hoop earrings.

"Huh? S-so these two are not-" Neil started, only to be cut off by David. "They work for me, I made them act as thieves to see how you'd react."

Neil's face of confusion quickly dropped into one that could only be described as mortified. He visibly blanched and wrung his hands together in distress. "I'm sorry..." He apologized, he wasn't much of a fighter, watching fights gave him panic attacks and blood made him nauseous but he could and would fight for his safety. "It's okay, baby," Bonquisha reassured.

"But..why? Why did you need to know my reaction?" He interrogated.

"I heard you worked as a body guard before. I had to see if you were really as bad at your job as Campbell said, turns out you're very good at it!" David said in a matter-of-fact tone with his fists of his hips.
