(DYLAN POV)
"So you think it's her?" I asked. Alex was doing a terrible, and by that I mean his explanation was as clear as mud, job at telling me what James said.
"No. James does. I don't know why, and personally I think she's dead, along with her parents. But we are under orders to check it out," Alex said, closing the bedroom door behind him.
"So, he wants us to risk our lives to save a girl that might not even be alive?" I asked.
"No. The girl is most defiantly alive. He just wants to see if she is, in fact, a Wander child. If she is then her parents might not actually be dead," Alex said. Now we were walking down the stairs.
"Okay. So he wants us to go get this girl who might be like us, and might not. And if she's not what do we do with her?" I asked him. I didn't know what James wasn't sending someone older for this mission, because if she was a Wander then she would be the most valuable to either side of the war.
When we got into the car, Alex said that they took her to a place called Dawn's Apartments.
So, we did what any smart teenage boys would do. We drove around until we found it.

Dawns Apartments turned out to be a group of seven or so multi-story buildings clustered around a smaller building. It seemed like a nice place to hold a hostage.
We walked to the smallest building, which had a sign on the wall proclaiming it was the Lobby and Registration Building. The interior was exactly how you expected it to look. Gray commercial carpet, with orange accent chairs and decorations. There was even a reddish-orange betta fish on the counter.
"Hi! Welcome to Dawn's apartment! My name is Amy, how can I help you?" A blond woman behind the counter asked us. Her voice was chirpy and high pitched. She was almost shouting. The other attendant, also blond, was speaking on the phone about someone's rent.
"Uh, we are looking for the room with Adam and Drew Sharp? Drew is our friend and he invited us over to play video games," I said. Hopefully, the part about video games made her believe we were his friends. I wanted to get out of this building, mostly because the smell of lemon cleaner stuff was too strong.
Amy nodded and said she would look it up for us. She began typing away on her desktop computer, and the other woman hung up the phone and began composing a really long, and by the way she typed, angry email.
"Drew and Peter are in apartment C3," she said. Amy handed us a business card that, of course, had orange letters on it. She explained that each building was a number, like A. The apartments inside those buildings had a number, like 1. The Sharps were located on the third floor of the third building.

As soon as Alex raised his hand to try to open the door, a muffled scream came from inside.
