8. The Big Day

...Next day (Wedding)...

Sarah- Almost done.

She straightened my dress from the back.

S- Turn around.
Y- *turns around* How do I look?
S- I can't put it in words how beautiful you are looking.
Y- Really?

I looked in the mirror and for a second, even I didn't believed my eyes that I can look this beautiful. Then Matt's dad came. He was going to walk me down the aisle.

S- Look (y/n), who's here.

I turned around and when Matt's dad saw me, he smiled and his eyes were teary. He hugged me and said

D- You look like a princess.
Y- Don't cry, Dad.
D- *wipes tears* Let's go. It's time.

My heart was racing. We went to the church. It was time for us to go in. The doors opened. Everyone looked at me. Matt saw me and smiled. I smiled back. Then I saw him wiping his tears. Everyone sat and a while later it was time for our vows. Matt repeated,

M- I, Matthew, take you (y/n), to be my wife to have and to hold from this day forward for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health to love and to cherish till death us do part according to God's holy law, in the presence of God, I make this vow.

Then I repeated,

Y- I, (y/n), take you Matthew, to be my husband to have and to hold from this day forward for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health to love and to cherish till death us do part according to God's holy law, in the presence of God, I make this vow.

Preacher- Heavenly Father, by your blessings, let these rings be to Matthew and (y/n), a symbol of love and unending faithfullness to remind them of the vow and convenant which they have made this day through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Matt slid the ring on my finger,

M- (y/n), I give you this ring as a sign of our marriage. With my body, I honour you with all that I am, I give to you and all that I have, I share with you within the love of God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Then I slid the ring on Matt's finger,

Y- Matthew, I give you this ring as a sign of our marriage. With my body, I honour you with all that I am, I give to you and all that I have, I share with you within the love of God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Preacher- In the presence of God and before this congregation, Matthew and (y/n) have given their consent and made their marriage vows to each other. They have declared their marriage by joining of hands and by the giving and receiving of rings. I, therefore, proclaim them that they are husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride.

We kissed and everyone applauded. After prayer, we marched outside. We hopped in the car.

M- I have a gift for you. I remember that you always wanted this.

He gave me an envelope. I opened it.

Y- *gasp* Is this really??? Paris!? For our honeymoon?
M- Yup! Surprise!
Y- Oh my god.. You remembered. I love you.

I hugged him.

M- I love you too, babe.
Y- We were so young when I used to say that I want to visit Paris.
