Ajax, Toronto, CanadaWe're nine months into the start of the "Roaring 20s", not much has occurred over the last year or so everything has been normal, not anything really exciting to be honest. Although, recently Deryck, Dave, Jay, Frank and Tom have restarted the band for the first time in four years, which was 1916 when they all went off for training in France to prepare for the Battle of Vimy Ridge - so it would've been just after the Battle of the Somme on the 18th November 1916 when they enlisted and started training for the many battles ahead. As I've previously mentioned, Prohibition is starting to come into effect to some extent, because some are trying to wean off of the alcohol that is slowly deteriorating their lives, so they have found alternatives to their years long alcohol addictions which is a relief and it also means that Prohibition is working, although there is the opposing side of the movement the Wets who want to abolish Prohibition so they can get their alcohol back, because they argue that the distilleries that are mass producing the alcohol are losing their profits and their companies, but if this is what it takes to make the country alcohol-free then so be it. So, besides all of that drama with society, this year so far hasn't been too bad which is a relief than the hectic years of the war. With the band now back together, I guess there will be plans to record new songs, perhaps for a new record since there is no war to be worrying about. Today, there has been mentions of going on tour since the war's finally over and the band has gotten back together after the Battles of the Somme and Vimy Ridge in 1916 and 1917, if that was the case then it would probably mean that I'm going to be left alone for however many days or weeks that they are away, but then again I think I would rather go anyways to help Deryck since this would be the first time touring with the band before they had to enlist and aid the war effort, and also he and maybe the rest of the band will have to inform the fans that he has shell shock and is sensorineural deaf due to the war. And of course this will be the first tour where Frank and Tom are apart of the band which will be surprising for the fans, but I guess they will be glad that they've found someone to replace Steve since his sudden death of hypothermia eight years ago. Besides the band's tour that's coming up, there is also an important date that's coming up in twenty one days, it's myself and Deryck's 11th wedding anniversary! So, at least that's another exciting thing to look forward to, since the rest of this year has been predominantly mundane up until now. We've been married for 11 years and been together for 13, doesn't seem like a long time but it is! A lot has happened since then of course, I mean we were just coming up for three years when the Titanic disaster happened, five when WWI started, and almost eight when he was injured at Vimy Ridge; despite all of the hardships over the years - more recent the drama with his shell shock, we've stuck by each other throughout it all which may be perceived as uncommon to today's society and a lot of the old traditionalists who aren't associating themselves with the modernisation of this era and the social changes that this year has brought with it so far. I'm certainly looking forward to what this era has more to offer as I have probably already mentioned a number of times.
Broadway is black like a sinkhole
Everyone raced to the suburbs
And I'm on the rooftop with curious strangers
This is the oddest of summersMaybe I'll medicate, maybe inebriate
Strange situations, I get anxious
Maybe I'll smile a bit, maybe the opposite
But pray that they don't call me thanklessMy tell-tale heart's a hammer in my chest
Cut me a silk tie tourniquetThis is my roaring, roaring 20s, I don't
Even know me, roll me like a blunt, cause I wanna go home
Roll me like a blunt, cause I wanna go home
My roaring, roaring 20s, I don't
Even know me, roll me like a blunt, cause I wanna go home
Roll me like a blunt, cause I want, I wanna go homeOscars and Emmy's and Grammy's
Everyone here is a trophy
And I'm sipping bourbon, the future's uncertain
The past on the pavement below me
