awake

I have been sitting by my sisters side for about 3 days, I looked at the doctor

“Why isn't my sister waking up?” I asked worried

“Sometimes their bodies need a little more time to recoup and with all the damage she had in hers from the accident and the alcohol it's possible that her body needs more time” said the doctor 

I sighed, “but she is going to wake up right?”

“Yes and her breathing on her own now is a good sign so it shouldn't be too much longer,” said the doctor as Becky walked in with some pizza and a cold mountain dew

The doc walked out and Becky sat next to me. We sat there and ate

“Why isn't she awake yet?” asked Becky

“The doc says it's because her body needs more time” I muttered looking back over at my sister “but he is sure she will wake up soon”

Becky nodded and held my hand as I held my sisters. We sat there for hours 

“Well I have to go train some, want me to bring you back some dinner later on?” Becky asked squeezing my hand

“No I am not hungry” I said quietly 

“Baby you have to eat” Becky said, “so I will bring you back something”

She kissed my head and I nodded

“I love you”

“I love you too” I said giving her a small smile even though there was nothing to smile about

She walked away. I grabbed the recliner and pushed it closer to my sisters bed and pulled the blanket up around my shoulders. I flipped through the channels and came across criminal minds. I started to watch it and must have dozed off. 

Julie's pov

I woke up from what seemed like a long ass nightmare. I was sore all over and saw that there was a recliner next to my bed. I could tell by the strand of red hair that it was my sister.

“Candy” I tried to say

It was like a whisper. I sighed this was going to be a little bit harder than I thought.

“Candy!” I said trying to be a little louder but failed. 

I looked on my bedside table and grabbed the pen that was sitting there and threw it at her. She lifted her head and looked over

“Oh my goodness J you're awake!” she said excitedly

I nodded “what exactly happened?”

“You got in a car accident” Candy said now sitting on the side of my bed

“That would explain why I am sore” I muttered

“And you have been in a medically induced coma for the last three days” Candy added

“Three days?” I asked confused 

“Yes” Candy said nodding her head

“Like three like 1,2, 3?” I asked trying to put the pieces together

“I am pretty sure that is what that means” Candy said slowly shaking her head

“Damn well that sucks a little” I muttered “so did I miss anything?”

“Nope and besides I haven't left your side so if there was anything I wouldn't know anyways” Candy said with a shrug

“Candy you could have you know…”
