Ch.4: Games and Darkness

Fritz's P.O.V

This morning I just finished getting ready to go and pick up (Y/N) for our day together. I'm not gonna call it a date, but she is so amazing and I just want her to have a good time. As I left the house I remembered her saying something about her favourite kind of cookie so I decided to pick up a few (F/C) for us. After I picked up the cookies, I headed for her house.

(Y/N)'s P.O.V

I was trying to decide what to wear for mine and Fritz's outing. I settled with my favourite hoodie and a pair of black jeans. I brushed back my (H/L), (H/C) hair and kept it back with a black headband. I'm not the kind of person that wears makeup so I went outside and sat on the porch waiting for Fritz. After 10 minutes, a white car pulled up and Fritz was inside. He waved at me and I headed into the car. "Good afternoon (Y/N)! How are you doing this morning?"

"I'm pretty good Fritz! I'm also pretty excited to spend the day together, it will be fun!"

"Oh yea, I got you these. I remembered you saying you liked them at work the other day so I decided to pick some up." I blushed a little because Fritz remembered one of the smallest things I had mentioned the other day, which showed he cares. I took one of the cookies (which was still warm btw) and munched away on it savouring its sweet taste.

Fritz's P.O.V

As (Y/N) was eating her cookie I put the car in gear and started to drive. Honestly, she looked kinda cute because her sweaters sleeves were over her hands and she held the cookie in her fingertips. I stated thinking to myself: 'No Fritz! What are you thinking? You only just met her! You can't have feeling for her can you? I think you do either way...' She noticed me glancing over at her when we were at a red light so I quickly turned my head back to the road. We drive in silence for a while and I was trying to think of something to say, but before I could we pulled up to the arcade. We decided to both get a card rather than trying to keep track of a bunch of tickets. She ran to use the restroom quickly, and as I waited I saw the others wandering around. 'Well this is just fantastic' I thought to myself as I saw them walk towards me. "Fritz you need to get a life! Spending all you time alone at the arcade is only making you fatter." Mike said smirking. "Shut up Mike! And for the record im not here alone, I came with a girl." Vincent then spoke up, "Oh yea? Then where is she?" I saw that (Y/N) was skipping back over so I pointed in her direction. They were all left in shock when she came to my side and grabbed my arm. "You two are dating!?!" Scott hollered like an idiot. "Uh, no! We were just hanging out for the day!" (Y/N) spoke up. They looked at each other and shrugged. They walked out of the arcade but Jeremy turned around looking kinda sad. He turned an followed the others.

Narrator's P.O.V

You both played games until all the screens went black. A voice came over the loud speaker, "Hello gamers! Unfortunately we are having some difficulties with the power and we will have to close early for the day. Sorry for the inconvenience!".

(Y/N)'s P.O.V

"Dang it! I was having alot of fun here, I guess we gotta go Fritz. It was enjoyable though! Thanks."

"Well (Y/N), we don't have to let the fun stop here... We could hang out at my place if you want and play video games, watch movies, and make food! We can still have fun before the day is over." I thought about his offer for a minute and happily obliged. We headed back to his car and of course I tripped over a curb. Fritz saw me stumble and caught me. I had my eyes shut bracing myself to fall but when I opened them I was about 2 inches from his face, a blush escaped both of us. I stood up and pulled away, quickly looking away from Fritz. When I was steady on my own feet, I saw him still looking at me with wide eyes. He lead me to his car, then we went to his house in silence.

Fritz's P.O.V

We were back at my place finally. 'That had to be one of the most awkward car rides I've ever been part of! How will the rest of the day go? Does she still wanna hang out? I'm such an idiot!' I kept thinking those thoughts while I sat on the couch and then she came up to me. "Hey Fritz, um, what games do you have? Aren't we gonna play something?"

"Oh yea, um there in the drawer under the t.v. We can play whatever you want!" She headed over to the games and pulled out Mario kart then stuffed it in the console. We played for hours racing through every course and unlocking all bonus content. It started getting late so (Y/N) headed to the door to leave. As I put my jacket on the power had gone out inside and outside. Lightning started to strike and thunder boomed. With the little bit of light from the lightning I could see (Y/N) trembling. "Are you ok, (Y/N)?"

"Umm..."

"(Y/N)?"

"N-no..."

"What wrong then?"

"Lets say I haven't had good experience with storms." A tear rolled down her soft red cheek so I wiped it away. "Do you wanna stay here until the storm passes? We could watch movies on my laptop? If you want." She looked at me and nodded. I took her coat from her and hung it back up. I was worried about (Y/N), who was curled up on the couch with her face in her hands. 'What happened to have her so freaked out?' I went upstairs to grab my laptop then sat beside (Y/N). We decided to watch (F/M) and about half way through the battery had died. The storm has gotten so bad that my house was shaking and so was (Y/N). I wrapped my arm around her for comfort, but she just sobbed. "What's wrong (Y/N)? You said something about a bad experience with storms? Do you want to talk about it?" She looked at me with big sad eyes and just shook her head. She got up and went to use the bathroom. When she got up her phone buzzed, it was Scott. I picked it up and instantly heard jabbering, "Hello! Hello, hello! (Y/N) are you there? Are you ok? Where are you?"

"Woah woah, Scott calm down! It's Fritz. (Y/N) is fine! She is at my place because the power went put here and I can't bring her back without the streetlights on."

"The storm has her pretty freaked out right? Is she doing ok? Can I talk to her?" I heard footsteps coming from the hall and I knew who it was so I told Scott she was available to speak.

(Y/N)'s P.O.V

"H-hello?"

"(Y/N)! OH MY GOSH! Are you ok? Do you want me to come get you? Is the storm scaring you? Are-"

"Scott, I'm fine... Just a little shaken up. Fritz went to find a flashlight but I'm just gonna try to sleep, I feel lightheaded and should probably rest a bit."

"Well as long as your alright, I don't want you to feel unsafe..."

"I'll see you tomorrow Scott."

"Bye (Y/N)"

Narrators P.O.V

You curled up on the couch with a warm blanket but couldn't get comfortable, probably because you were still in jeans. When Fritz came back you asked to borrow a shirt to use as pyjamas. He brought you one that would be long enough to hang right above your knees. You got changed and sat next to Fritz who was texting Jeremy. You cuddled up beside him and slowly you both fell asleep. At one point in the night Fritz woke up and saw you laying down on the couch with your head on his lap. He grabbed a pillow from the other room and slid it under your head. He looked at you one more time as you peacefully rested. He went up to his room and in the morning you were gone already. He went to get a drink from the fridge and found a note that said:

"Had fun with you Fritz. See you at work on Tuesday! <3"

'Oh crap... I do have feelings for her...'
