Chapter 24 - Soft duvet

Why are you giving me so much?

You took me to your beautiful home. You gave me some fresh clothes. Cooked me dinner.

We ate it together in comfortable silence.

You then took me to your bedroom and told me to make myself comfortable.

I asked where you were going to sleep and you told me 'the couch'

When I asked you if you would sleep beside me, you went very red. I probably did too, but I wanted to ask.

I always felt lonely at night...

You are the only person I trust...

You agreed and gave me a loose shirt and jogging bottoms to wear.

When I got into bed, I was shocked by the coziness. The mattress was soft (unlike mine), your duvet was thick and comfortable (unlike mine) and your bed was a double (unlike mine).

You got in next to me and pulled me close so my head was resting on your chest.

I took off my headphones and laid them next to the bed.

"I'll keep you safe." You whispered so it wouldn't hurt my ears. "You aren't alone any more."

I cried into your chest, but they were tears of happiness.

I feel safe in your arms...
