A/n: Thanks so much for requesting! I hope that you enjoy the story!!  I am a horrible person. I forget that I have requests and then when I do remember them, the person who requested them probably hate me now. I apologize for my late publish on any of my stories.

Tried to walk together

But the night was growing dark

Thought you were beside me

But I reached and you were gone

Sometimes I hear you calling

From some lost and distant shore

I hear you crying softly

For the way it was before

You sat against the wall with you hands to your face. You were stupid and had been tricked into drinking the water of life, and now, you where slowly dying. You wrapped your arms around yourself and shivered. Standing up, you headed towards your's and Heisuke's shared room and laid down on the futon. She moved her arm and draped it over her eyes. "Why was I so stupid?" You whispered to yourself. You hadn't told Heisuke about what happened and you honestly didn't want him to find out about it.

Stilling alone, you couldn't help the chill that slithered up your spine. "I'm so scared." You whispered. You could fill your life slipping from your grasp as your vision slowly faded. You were blind. You were tricked into drinking from the fountain of youth and now, you were leaving this world behind. You couldn't control the tears that were falling down your face. Your heart was pounding loudly in your ears as you tried to calm but the pounding was too much.

You curled into a ball and buried your face in your arms. You couldn't take it anymore. You had ruined everything you had worked for and now, everything was disappearing before your eyes. "Y/n, you're going to have to tell him sooner rather than later." Hijikata's voice rang out in her empty room. You looked up at your brother and sighed softly. "I know but, how do I go about telling him?" You whispered and hugged your knees close to your chest. Hijikata sighed and walked over to you.

He sat down next to your and pulled you into a hug. "What do I do Hijikata. I'm scared to tell him." You said clasping your hands together. Your body shuddered as you coughed and blood painted your hands and part of Hijikata's shirt. He couldn't help the pang of guilt that rang through his chest as he watched you weakly try to clean up the blood. "Damn it all." He muttered. You looked up at him and gave out a weak smile. "It's my fault for being so naive. I fell right into their trap." You whispered moving your head to look straight ahead. The pain between the two siblings was enough to see. Hijikata was in pain watching his little sister slowly dying. Hijikata was scared. He had never tried anything without his sister telling him something was wrong with what he had chosen. He hugged her tightly and prayed that she didn't leave him and Heisuke alone. Fate had a cruel way of messing with his heart.
