Normally I don't do these sort of stories but, in light of being a total idiot and not getting anything published for who knows how long, I will consider this a special. I hope that you all enjoy and thanks for requesting! Sorry if it's short!
Picture is Chizuru's fox form.
Hijikata and the rest of his friends were on their knees in front of the enemy. They had been bested and they couldn't do anything about it. They just prayed that Chizuru was safe and no one was hurt. Kazama grinned wickedly down at them. "How does it feel to be on your knees in front of your enemy?" He snarled. Hijikata didn't answer. No one answered. Kazama narrowed his eyes in annoyance and raised his hand. "On my signal, fire." He said. He kept his arm raised in the air and as he brought it down, Chizuru lept in front of the Shinsengumi causing Kazama and Hijikata to freak out. Kazama could stop the men from firing and all that surrounded the area was dust.
When everything settled down, what stood before them made their hearts drop. Chizuru stood before them with her hands outstretched, nine tails waving softly behind her. Her once midnight black hair gone white. Her eyes had turned gold and fluffy white ears sat on her head. Her mouth was pulled back in a snarl as she blocked the bullets from even harming her friends. Hijikata moved to her side as his hair slowly shifted to white. The shinsengumi members watched as their best friend and leader changed to demons. Or, Chizuru turned into a demon, Hijikata turned into a Rasetsu. (angry Chizuru)

"Why didn't you tell us that you were a demon Chizuru?" Hijikata asked as both he and Chizuru slashed through the enemy side. Her hands were covered in blood and her face splattered in blood. Chizuru winced at his words before slashing through another enemy soldier. "Did you expect me to waltz up to you guys, who I consider family, and say, hey guys, just so we are all on the same page, I'm a demon." Chizuru felt tears cloud her vision. "There was no way in hell that I would ever do that. I wasn't going to hurt you guys but I didn't want to leave you guys." She whispered. Kazama howled in rage when his plan failed.
He raced towards Hijikata in hopes to catch the samurai off guard and kill him. However, the sound of Heisuke screaming caught Hijikata and Kazama's attention. They looked towards the end of Kazama's sword and their world came crashing down. Chizuru had jumped in front of the sword to protect Hijikata. The sword had pierced her stomach and blood gushed from the wound. She choked back a sob as she pressed a hand to her waist. "I'll say this only once. Leave." She hissed out. The soldiers that were left just started laughing at her. "What's gonna happen if we don't?" One laughed.
"There's nothing you can do. Kazama injured you badly. Might as well finish the job." another said lifting his gun up and pointing it at Chizuru. It was as if everyone was frozen on the spot. They couldn't move, they couldn't scream out for her to move. They could only watch in horror as the man shot. The sound of the bang echoing in their ears as they watched it pierce her chest. Their heartbeat being the only sound they could hear. Okita, who had seen the female as a younger sister crawled towards the fallen female and pulled her against his chest.
"You're going to be ok. We are all going to wake up from this nightmare and you are going to be in the room asleep on one of us after waiting for one of us to wake up. Please. Don't go." He whispered pressing his face into her neck and sobbing. The soldiers began laughing and grabbing the group of men and dragging them away from their fallen friend. Okita and Heisuke could only watch as she lay unmoving as they were dragged away. Kazama, who had refused to kill any of them after what he had just witnessed, was dragged away along with them. Both his and Hijikata's eyes were dull and held no emotion at all.
"What should we do with them? Burn them? I heard that's more painful." one of the soldiers said laughing as they finally made it back to their base. They roughly throw Okita and Heisuke against a pole and howled in laughter when the others started panicking. "Say goodbye." a soldier hissed out as he struck a fire against the hay that lined the area around Okita and Heisuke. The fire roared to life and Okita couldn't take it anymore. His body began sinking against the ropes that bound him to the post. His mind was slowly growing dimmer and his eyes were closing. He screamed in utter pain with the fire swung around his body. Heisuke was practically paralyzed with fear the fire rose around him.
"LOOK OUT!!" Someone yelled as a giant fox came racing into the compound. Its golden eyes glowing with fury and a look a fear crossed the soldiers face as the fox began destroying everything around them. Its powerful jaws snapping over hundreds of them as if they were nothing but flowers. Okita called out to the fox in hopes that it would save him and Heisuke. When its head turned towards him, it raced towards them and wrapped its tail around them and put out the fire in the process. It's head lifted up and it screamed loudly. It's scream had turned to a roar. Okita pressed his hand against the soft fur that surrounded him. The giant fox screamed towards the rest of the soldiers before howling.
The fox made a rampage through the compound of the enemy destroying everything that came into it's sights, It's angry roars scaring any enemy in submission. Once every thing had died down, the fox slowly dissolved and a very exhausted Chizuru fell to the ground. Sanosuke raced forward and caught her just before she fell against the ground. Her hair covered her face as her breath slowed as she fell asleep. The shinsengumi members surrounded Sano as he cradled a very wounded and tired Chizuru. They returned to their headquarters and laid her in a bed closest to where they were meeting to talk about her demon.
Hours upon hours did they talk about her kitsune demon. They found that they wanted her to stay by their sides and to fight alongside them. They could care less that she was a demon and they were not. They saw her for who she really was and not some stupid ass demon. They turned their heard when they heard a noise come from her room. They moved towards the room and opened the door silently only to slam it open when they saw blood dripping from her head. Her hands were shaking and she couldn't move from her spot on her hands and knees. She turned her head when she saw her friends and before she could even tell they to run, her fox broke free and slammed them all to the ground.
Its paw held them down as it snarled in their face. Okita looked up at the fox and lifted his hands up and gently took it's face in his hands. "You're not a bad person Chizuru. Please, don't do this." He whispered. She looked down at them and her eyes widened. She moved away from them and returned to her normal human self. She took one last look at them before running. They called after her but she wasn't going to stay if it meant that she could hurt them at any time. She could hear them running after her, but she wasn't going to let them catch her. She didn't want to hurt them anymore than she already did.
She ran and ran and ran before she finally came to a stop. She took deep gasping breaths as she tried to call her heart down. "I will miss them." She whispered. Her ears popping up from her head as she continued to run away. She slowly shifted to her kitsune form and turned to look back at the small town that she had called home. She could see the shinsengumi calling out for her and looking around for her but she just turned her head and raced into the forest. Her head hung low as she slowed down to a walking speed. "Sorry guys. I don't want to put you in any more danger. This is goodbye my friends." She mumbled quietly as she disappeared into the dark forest.
