5 | A secret kiss

It's safe to say things became a little weird between Grayson and I since, he grabbed my hand. It's almost as if he was avoiding me. I wasn't sure if that was the case, but it felt like it was. I didn't want to push anything so I left him alone hoping he'd talk to me.

I was currently downstairs, trying to make myself a nice breakfast. I attempted to ask Grayson if he wanted anything, but he declined and rushed out of the bathroom. But just in case he changes his mind, I crack an extra egg for him. The hot pan sizzled with the smell of bacon coming from it, and then I heard footsteps creeping behind me.

"Grayson?" I turned.

"I think I am a little hungry." He avoided eye contact.

I just nodded not wanting to make him feel uncomfortable.

It didn't take long for everything to finish cooking, I spread the remaining avocado on the toast, then set a plate in front of Grayson. He muttered a barely audible thanks. I nodded in reply.

As we ate, we didn't say much to each other. It was starting to get really uncomfortable, we were best friends. Why wasn't he talking to me? He offered to take a ride, he held my hand. I was hurt and confused at the same time. I get he had a girlfriend, but last night I actually felt we were finally getting somewhere. I just think Grayson doesn't want to admit his true feelings.

"Grayson."

"Ethan."

We said each other's names at the same time.

"I'm sorry," He started, "I don't want to make you feel bad about what happened last night. I just confused myself."

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"Eth, it felt somewhat nice when I held your hand. I got scared, honestly. I never feel that way when I hold Amanda's hands. I don't want to make anything weird between, because I like how we are best friends now. I feel like my whole life I've doubted any feelings I've had for you."

I wasn't sure of what to say.

"It's weird."

"I-It's not, I'm just shocked. I've only been here for a couple days, and this how everything turns out. Gray, I like you, a lot. I have for some time."

Graysons eyes were on me now.

"It's been easy to keep from you considering how many girlfriends you've had, that I have had to deal with. It's obvious how much I do, but you never seemed to notice."

"I find it weird, how just holding your hand..." He paused.

We both paused.

"I want to kiss you." Grayson said looking at me.

He gets up from his seat, then slowly walks over to me. His lips land on mine. The kiss slow, but sweet. I didn't want to let go, but we both pulled apart. I've always dreamed of this day, but I never really thought about how early it would come.

"We cannot tell Amanda." You could tell he felt guilty. But I could careless about Amanda right now. Everything I ever wanted and needed was right here in this very moment.

"Okay."

I wasn't sure what Ethan and I were getting into, but I wasn't complaining. I wanted this.
