Present time . .16 years later . .
At a peaceful afternoon, a soldier was walking fast towards the throne hall of Yunmeng Jiang's mansion.
"Lord Jiang, a letter of invitation from Yao clan" the soldier reported, handing the letter to an attendant who passed it to Jiang Cheng.
"A night hunt" Jiang Cheng uttered to himself after reading "It's been long since there's been a night hunt"
(*Night Hunt- not literally done at night. An event where cultivators from various clans compete in hunting down demons in some areas)
Indeed, it has been almost 16years since the last night hunt. That was before all the chaos happened.
That day, Jiang Cheng traveled to Qishan to talk to his son, who is now almost 16years old. A few months after Jiang Yanli announced her pregnancy, Wen Qing had also bared a child of their own. And luckily, it was also a childe. Wen Qing gave birth to childe Jiang Feng Zi. His name came from Jiang Cheng's parents, Jiang Fengmian and Yu Ziyuan. Wen Qing agreed to the name to honor the sacrifices of Jiang Cheng's parents.
The young childe is with his mother since his parents doesn't live together due to both being clan leaders of different sects. But they do spend some time together as a family.
Wen Qing had turned Qishan Wen sect from a vicious clan into a healing clan. They only cultivate in a medical way with the goal of healing others.
"My lady, I'm here" Jiang Cheng announced as he entered the training grounds of Qishan palace. Although they focus on medicine, Wen Qing still trains some soldier for defense. And among those training under the sun is the young childe Feng Zi.
"Diē!" Feng Zi dropped his sword and run towards his father. Greeting him with a hug.
"Oh!" Jiang Cheng barely maintained balance as he almost fell when he caught his son "A-Zi, how many times do I have to tell you that you should never leave your sword"
"I'm sorry, diē"
Jiang Cheng raised his hand and the sword flew into it. He handed the sword to his son and ruffled his hair.
"Where's your mother?"
"She should be in the garden, planting turnips"
Jiang Cheng just shook his head. His wife had developed a great addiction to turnips. Whenever she would find an empty spot, she would plant on it.
Father and son left the training ground and went to find Wen Qing. And indeed, she was crouched on the ground and had just finished covering up a hole she had dug.
"My lady" Jiang Cheng called out to her.
"Oh! What brings you here?" Wen Qing didn't even bother standing up to greet her husband properly.
"I want to take A-Zi back to Yunmeng" Jiang Cheng answered "So he can start training for the upcoming night hunt"
"A night hunt?" Wen Qing still busy digging up another hole "You're hosting one?"
Jiang Cheng frowned. "Didn't you read the invitation letter from Wushang Yao clan?"
"I didn't receive any" this time, Wen Qing stood up. "It wasn't a surprise though. We know they're still afraid of us possibly causing troubles. I'm pretty sure Wei Wuxian didn't get invited as well"
"You're right, I didn't" Wuxian drop from the sky and into the garden.
"Bofu!" Feng Zi greeted his uncle.
(*Bofu- father's older brother)
"Long time no see, A-Zi" Wuxian ruffled the childe's hair.
"What brings you here?" Jiang Cheng asked.
