"Diē, I want to be big just like you and fuqin" four year old Sizhui was sitting on Wuxian's lap as they wait outside Jingshi for Wangji.
"Alright! Do you see that tree?" Wuxian pointed at a birch tree in front of them "It grows tall like that because of the soil and sunlight"
"Really?"
"Yes!"
"I want to grow tall like the tree, diē"
"Okay" Wuxian carried Sizhui and placed him down in a tiny hole that was supposed to be for the flowers Wangji plans on planting "You see? Your fuqin had already prepared a hole for you. A perfect fit"
Wuxian started covering Sizhui's legs with dirt. He then got a small bucket of water and sprinkled some on the child.
Father and son were enjoying their garden fun when a visitor came.
"Nice to see you here, lord Wei" Xichen greeted him.
Wuxian stood up and bowed to his brother in law. "Good to be here, Zewu-jun"
"Why is the young childe all covered in mud?"
"Diē said, I have to sit here and be covered with soil so I can grow faster and taller" Sizhui answered.
Xichen picked up Sizhui and brushed off a few dirt from his face.
"I don't think that's the right way" Xichen smiled playfully. "Young kids should sleep and eat more to grow up"
"But jiujiu, diē said . ."
"Your diē loves to joke around and play with you"
"Then, is fuqin the same?" Sizhui looked at the two men with the most innocent eyes "Sometimes he would put small rabbits around me and told me I should play with them because they will help me grow"
When Xichen thought Wuxian's parenting was bad enough, Wangji just had to add to it. He felt a bit worried for the child's well being.
"I think it's time for your afternoon nap now, xiao Yuan" Xichen gave the child to Wuxian. "Proper rest is also good for growing up kids"
"I'll just tuck him in, Zewu-jun" Wuxian excused himself and carried Sizhui inside Jingshi. He cleaned him up and changed his clothes before setting him on Wangji's bed. "Sleep tight"
"Let's play again later when I wake up, diē" Sizhui said as his eyes slowly closed. His father's beautiful smile was the last thing he saw before drifting in to a slumber.
After making sure that Sizhui was in his deep sleep, Wuxian came out again.
"Are you staying for dinner, lord Wei?" Xichen asked when Wuxian got near him.
"That would be nice, Zewu-jun" Wuxian smiled bitterly "Very nice indeed"
Xichen gave him a patronising smile and a gentle tap on his shoulder "Hang in there, lord Wei"
"I'll see you" Wuxian bowed down before walking away.
He could've just simply teleported back to Yiling but teleportation is forbidden in the Cloud Recesses. So he had to trail down to the foot of the mountain and cross a small river before he can use the teleportation talisman.
