"You dirty cut sleeve! Get out of my palace this instance!" a trembling mad Guangshao shouted inside his throne hall as he threw scrolls on to the non-caring Mo Xuanyu.
Mo Xuanyu just shrugged and walked away. Not minding the disgusted look of servants and officials that were present that time.
"Now where should I go now" he wondered to himself as he trails down the fifty steps outside the throne hall.
"San-di" a faint voice called out from the bottom of the stairs. There stood an innocent looking, shy Jin Guangyao. That time, he was still known as Meng Yao.
"Oh! Da-ge" Xuanyi ran the few steps and stopped right in front of Guangyao. "Are you here to send me off?"
"Where will you go now?"
"Hmm. I don't know yet. I might go back to Mo-ayi. That is if she's still willing to accept me" Xuanyu scratched his head childishly "She may be short of house workers there"
"San-di . ."
"Too bad er-ge wasn't here" Xuanyu smiled bitterly "I didn't get to say goodbye to him" Guangyao was about to say something but he stopped his brother "Da-ge, please say goodbye to er-ge for me when he gets back from Gusu"
Guangyao hugged his little brother "I'm so sorry, san-di. I'm really sorry"
Xuanyu rubbed Guangyao's back to soothe him.
"It's not your fault, da-ge" Xuanyu gave him his sweetest smile "Send me some money sometimes to I can buy more powder for my face!"
With that, Xuanyu skipped his way out of the Lanling palace.
. . .
"You're not welcome here! Scram! This is not a place for a disgrace like you. Get your filthy powdered face off my yard!"
Xuanyu had to make a run for his life as he was chased out by some servants holding a thick wooden plank. He lost them around some stalls in the super market.
While getting on his tracks, he accidentally bumped into someone.
"Oh, my apologies, young lord" Xuanyu immediately apologized, not wanting anymore trouble. "I hope I didn't get your clothes dirty"
"No harm done, childe Mo" the man replied.
Hearing the stranger mentioned his name, Xuanyu looked up to see whobit was. He almost tripped on his robe when he backed down from two men.
"Taoist cultivators!" Xuanyu exclaimed.
"Glad to know that childe Mo still remembers us" the one wearing white robe spoke. Taoist cultivator, Xiao Xingchen known as Daozhang. With him was Song Zichen who wears black robe, known as Song Lan.
The two are famous travellers as they don't belong to any clan but exorcise evil without asking for anything in return.
"Eh, Daozhang" Xuanyu suddenly became a bit friendly "Do you need a servant?" he asked while walking along with them.
"We live on people's offerings and donations" Song Lan butted in "How can we afford a servant?"
"You don't need to pay though. Just sharing your food and a roof for covering during the night is enough"
"Are you referring your self, childe Mo?" Xingchen asked nicely "Did you run away from home?"
"Well, you can say that" Xuanyu smiled bitterly "I ran away because they chased me out"
Xingchen and Song Lan looked at each other as if their eyes were talking.
"Alright, childe Mo" Xingchen finally gave in "You can come with us. But you must help us in everything we do"
