The Troubled Soul (Volume 2)

Chapter 28: What was Supposed to be Home.

Josh, Kallie, and Zoe just walked into the store with the secret entrance to the cult. By now, Josh's powers that he had temporarily given to Zoe had worn off.

Josh: Cabin Fever, what a name.

Zoe: It was the best we could come up with and use without getting sued for copyright.

Kallie: Figures.

Josh: Hey Karma.

Kallie: Yes?

Josh: Why don't you show us your face?

This immediately made her nervous. If she removed the mask then Josh would instantly recognize her and the last thing she wanted was to loose her little brother again. So...she decided to lie.

Kallie: Um, I'd rather not. I have a lot of scars that cover my face and I don't want anybody to see.

Josh: Oh, okay. I understand not wanting people to see your scars.

Kallie: Maybe you can show yours to me later on?

Josh: Maybe, highly unlikely though.

Zoe: What? Oh come on, even I haven't seen your scars yet!

Josh: Then I'll show you too, relax.

Zoe: Fine.

They then walked to the bodyguards, who both looked at Kallie as if she was a threat. They reached for their guns, but they stopped before they even touched their weapons when Josh suddenly turned his fingers into claws and pointed at both of their necks faster than they could blink. When they all looked at him, his expression showed anger.

Josh: Grab that weapon and I'll kill you before you even get a chance to turn the safety off.

Both the guards retracted their hands in fear.

Josh: She's with me.

Zoe: Well, technically I'M with him. She is his personal guest though.

Kallie: This girl better stop reminding me she's in a relationship with my little sunshine if she knows what's good for her.

Guard #1: Yes ma'am.

The guards nodded and pressed the button on the side of their glasses at the same time. When they did, a secret door opened up and Josh, Kallie, and Zoe walked through and went to the secret nightclub. When Kallie saw it all, she looked surprised.

Kallie: Wow.

Josh: I know, right? It surprised me too when I first came here.

Just then, Brian walked up to them, Zoe's father.

Brian: Demon King, where have you been?

Josh: I was...let's just say busy.

Brian: I'll say, you were gone for a week straight.

Kallie: It was really hectic.

Brian: What was?

Kallie: It's personal.

Brian: I understand, but who are you?

Before Josh or Kallie could answer, Zoe jumped in front of them and started leading her dad away.

Zoe: Yeah, dad. We need to talk.

Brian: Oh, um, okay. I guess I'll see you two later.

Josh: Bye Brian.

Kallie: Bye sir.

When they left, Josh and Kallie were left with the massive party in the nightclub.
