The Troubled Soul (Volume 2)

Chapter 7: Wraith.

~In Josh's Mind~

Josh opened his eyes, but he wasn't in the forest. He was on the rooftop where he first met Scarlet...and had that horrible nightmare. This instantly put fear into him as he quickly stood up and looked around, only to not see anybody. Every time he tried to have a dream, he would have a horrible nightmare. So he was frantically looking around, just waiting for something horrible to start happening like it always did.

As he was looking around, he realized that he was in different clothes. He was wearing a normal white t-shirt and blue jeans with a black belt and solid grey running with white socks. No jacket, coat, hat, or even gloves. That's when he heard a voice from behind him, but it sounded just like him.

???: Hello, Josh.

He quickly turned around, expecting some horrible thing to terrorize him...but it looked exactly like his monster side, down to the very claws and pupil slits. His monster side was bloodthirsty and...basically a true monster, so why was it smiling at him?

Josh: Umm...hi.

???: My name is Wraith.

Josh was beyond confused. He was expecting another horrible, mind-scarring, nightmare, not a friendly greeting from a side of himself. He didn't feel fear, but he was more curious than anything, but he was so confused that he could barely speak right.

Josh: H-Hi, my name is...wait, you already know that.

Wraith: That's right, and I know you are very confused right now.

Josh: H-How?

Wraith: Because we are the same person. I am you, I'm your monster side.

Josh: So, do you know everything about me then?

Wraith: Yeah, and you know everything about me.

Josh: But how do I know if you're telling the truth?

Wraith: That's easy.

Wraith then started speaking perfectly in sync with Josh.

Wraith&Josh: How?

Wraith&Josh: What?

Wraith&Josh: How are you doing that?

Wraith&Josh: How are you saying exactly what I'm saying at the same time I'm saying it?

Wraith&Josh: Hmm...rock, unicorn, popsicle, dog, ring, cat, car, house, and running.

Wraith: See, Josh? We are the same person.

Josh: Okay, then where is my demon side?

Wraith: He isn't here because you haven't transformed into that side of yourself or you just haven't unlocked him yet.

Josh: Okay, look...this is all just...

Wraith: Too confusing?

Josh: Yeah, thank you.

Wraith: You mean, thank me.

Josh: Umm, yeah, I guess I do.

Wraith: Do you want to talk somewhere more relaxing?

Josh: Sure.

Within a second, they were suddenly in a small library with a campfire place with a lit fire. They both sat by the fire and immediately began to relax due to the calm heat radiating from the fire. They both sighed at the same time and looked at each other.

Wraith: I know this is all confusing, but I'll try my best to help you understand. I know some things you don't because I'm your monster side and I've been stuck in here, so I know a lot about ourself since I've used the time I had and studied our mind and body.
