As soon as I reached Steve's driveway, I walked up to his huge house and knocked the door. It opened to reveal a heartbroken Steve Harrington.
"Hey hey hey, what's wrong?" I ask wrapping my arms around his neck.
"Nancy. I thought she loved me."
"Come on. Let's go inside and talk about it, okay?" I say, before leading him into his room, already knowing his parents are gonna be out of town.
"She was hammered and I accidentally spilled my drink all over her. I went to help her and she started calling us bullshit, me bullshit, our entire relationship bullshit. She never loved me. She was just using me to escape the idea of barb dying." He explained, laying his head on my lap as I played with his beautiful locks.
"You know what Harrington. As cliche as it sounds, it's her loss. Think about it, she lost somebody who cared dearly about her, somebody who was there for her in a blink of an eye, somebody who put her above everybody else. You are amazing, funny, caring and you've got incredible hair" I joke at the end, causing him to chuckle.
"And if Nancy's to stupid to realise that, then it is absolutely a loss at her end. And you'll find somebody, I know you will. Someone who loves you just as much as you love them, Nancy's just not that someone."
"Didn't realise you were such a softie Hopper" he chuckled closing his eyes.
"Fuck off, do you know how hard that was? To compliment you?" I laugh, continuing to play with his hair.
"Your amazing" he smiles.
"Oh please Harrington, tell me something I don't know" I grin, while he slowly falls asleep on my lap as I play with his locks.

Steve's POV
I woke up in the middle of the night to find myself comfortably sleeping on Emerson's lap. I then look up to see that she had fallen asleep sitting up, with a hand in my hair to comfort me.
God, she was gonna wake up with a crook in her neck tomorrow morning.
Without waking her up, I gently lay her down, under my duvet and crawl in next to her so that we're face to face, although her eyes are closed.
As she made that whole speech to make me feel better, it really made me realise something. After every single girl, every single heartbreak, she's always been the one person whose been able to keep to grounded. And no one could ever replace her.
It also made me fill with guilt as remembered the incidents that have been taking place the past few weeks. My 'party' when I completely ditched for Nancy, the other day when I once again completely ditched her for Nancy. The past few fucking weeks when I ditched her, and for guess who, Nancy.
But god, was she understanding. She was there for me all along. I was too oblivious to even notice.
I gently pulled her into my chest before I fell asleep, burying my face into her cocoa-butter smelling hair.

Emerson's POV
School was sooo boring.
Like to the point where I actually wanted to rip my skin so that I would have something else to do.
I was sat at the back of the class, while everyone else was watching some shitty movie that we're supposed to write a report about towards the end of the semester.
Not being able to handle another second of this torture I quickly made a run of it out the door when the teacher wasn't looking.
Not knowing where else to go, I made my way to the gym where I know Steve would be playing basketball.
I made my way up to the bleachers, before Steve can see me. When I look at Steve he's sort of, I don't know, grinding against that Billy from last night.
Before I knew it, Billy had taken the ball off of Steve and Steve had fell to the floor.
"Steve!" A voice called out causing everyone to look across the gym to see none other than Nancy fucking Wheeler.
