Aphmau

I threw up into a trash can after hearing Travis sing. Not because he was singing -he's a great singer and I was super proud- but because the little kid in my stomach doesn't like to cooperate and decides to do as they likes. Aaron says that's just like their Mama. That gets him a glare, even though it's completely true.
Lucinda is sitting next to me a look in her eye like she wants to question me.
"Aph? You good? The flu bug isn't going around is it?" I shake my head. I haven't told a single person about this pregnancy. Not a single one. Except for Cadenza but she died. I try to push that memory far away. It just doesn't seem right. I turn to look at the innocent Lucinda. She doesn't suspect a thing. Now is better than never. I'm thirteen weeks. Well exactly thirteen point zero four, but technicality's.
I whip out my phone. Lucinda raises her dark eyebrows. They've always fascinated me. Perfect, dark eyebrows.
"Aphmau?"
I open the camera setting and smile. I click record.
"Wanna tell me why your recording your puke?"
"Hey, Lucinda, guess what?" Lucinda's crimson eyes shimmered.
"What?" I smiled brightly. I pulled my loose sweater tight.
"This potato's growing a little potato!" Lucinda looks confused. Then it hits her. It hits her like a comet.
"Your.." Her voice trails off.
"I'm preggers!" She squeals and wraps me in her arms.
"Oh my Irene! Boy or girl?"
"I don't know. Too early and we want it to be a surprise like Lina was." Lucinda pouted. I stifled a giggle. She looked so funny with her bottom lip sticking out like a disappointed puppy.
Irene, that was a weird comparison.
"Don't laugh at me," she complains.
"You sound like my four year old."
"Are you implying you laugh at your poor, innocent four year old."
"It's not my fault when she comes into the room dressed as a clown saying she's going to marry the table!"
"I thought that Laurence was marrying the table? You know, Laurtable? Cause you're married now?"
I laugh. My thoughts go grim Laurence. He is fine. Garroth is looking after him. He would be fine.
Lucinda notices I'm not laughing anymore. The laughs are stuck in my throat. She offers me her oddly pale and cold hand. I grip it tightly and she pulls me to my feet. She pushes my hair out of my face. It's to short to pull back anymore.
"Laur is going to be fine. I know it."
"You're no witch, Lucinda. How would you know?" She looks at me straight in the eye. Her eyes are watering. How odd is it that we were just laughing our heads off?
"I just do. We are all going to be okay now." She rubbed her hands together before pulling me into a hug. I bury my face into her sweater. Lucinda doesn't hug a lot of people, but in my expert opinion, she gives some of the best hugs. Her black wool top smells like cinnamon and I immediately feel better.
"Thanks, Luce," I say, my voice muffled.
"No problem. Now let's go sit on the couch because I am sorry, but my bathroom is not the most comfortable place in the world and I am very lazy, meaning my butt is calling for softness."
"Remember when we all saw Zane's..."
"No. We never speak of that. Ever."

Her plush couch makes me just want to close my eyes.
"Okay, I need more baby info."
I look up at her. She's upside down, typing on her laptop.
"Why?" I ask, blowing a strand of dark hair out of my face.
"One, I'm curious. Two, I'm throwing you a baby shower."
"What! Lucinda, you don't have to do that!" I'm shocked. Absolutely shocked. This potato was not expecting that.
"It's no issue. Also are you totally opposed to having a gender reveal? Cause we could do that too? What are your name choices."
"No. It would be kinda nice to know ahead of time. Except for you'd have to pick up the envelope or whatever. I'd have to talk with Aaron though." He wouldn't care though. He's just as curious as I am. Now that we're nineteen, we aren't as stressed about it. I'm enjoying this a lot more and actually, wouldn't mind knowing the gender ahead of time. It would be fun. "I'm sure he'd say yes."
"Deal. Now names."
"It a secret," I tease. She throws a green sparkly throw pillow at my head. "Hey!"
"You deserve that. Names!"
I stick out tongue. I'm awful at keeping secrets. I'm surprised I managed to keep it a secret for this long that I'm pregnant. Like ten points for Aph.
"Okay, fine. Don't tell though," I command.
"Gee, Lord Aphmau. Okay. Won't spill." I smile. She's read my draft for the Rising of Phoenix Drop.
"Okay we are thinking Melissa Cadenza for a girl, but Lisa for short."
Her face falls for a moment when she realizes why I would name my child that. Two people we love. Both dead. I try to shake the thought from my mind.
"Lina and Lisa. I like it."
"If it a boy, we were thinking about the name Jacob Derek or Malachi Remus. Maybe Levin Derek, but the first two are more likely."
"Where did Jacob come from?"
I smile what Aaron calls my trouble maker smile. Often he says no you can't cover me with stickers after it.
"Well, I wanted to use name of the hero from my anime, but Aaron said no. I forced him to sign a contract agreeing to Jacob."
"Isn't that also from an anime?" I nodded vigorously. Lucinda laughed.
"Okay... okay..."
"When do you think the others will start having kids?" Lucinda looked up at me.
"Not me anytime because Danny is a) over in Brightport for work and b) I am not the maternal type. I'm more of the crazy wacky aunt. Katie and Trav are working our relationship issues so not them. Nana and Zane... Zane's going to need a lot of convincing. Dante and Jenna just started dating. Laur is single as a freaking Pringle. I guess that leaves Garroth and Kim?"
Oh, that would be nice.
"I mean we are all still only nineteen, I guess and some in college, but it be nice to have some mom friends who were closer," I say, sighing. Lucinda smiles at me.
"I hope everything goes well for Katelyn and Travis."
"You know them. They'll be fine."
I smile. Nothing can keep them apart. Maybe that's naive of me. But I know them. They love each other.
I hope they aren't too foolish and stubborn to realize that. I hope that they realize they love each other. Travis has a crush on Katelyn since seventh grade. Katie held him when he cried after we saved him. She went to therapy with him. I went to, but that's not important.
Travis and Katelyn might of had a toxic relationship in the beginning, but it blossomed into something beautiful and supporting. Maybe it is because their souls are meant to be together. I dunno. I just know they love each other to much to let go.
"Aph, are you okay" Lucinda asks.
"Yes." I smile happily. "I am so perfect."
