"So dad." Lily said walking into his home office. "Uhm. So some the girls were thinking of going to the movies tonight." She fidgeted with her fingers.

"What time?" Her dad swiveled in his chair.

"9:45." His eyebrow raised. "Well we were thinking about getting something to eat before." She ended with a smile.

"You are asking me so you don't have to ask your mother."

"Maybe."

Her father took a second to think about it. He ran his hands thru his salt and peppered beard.

"That's fine but be home by twelve thirty."  She got up and gave her dad a hug and a kiss on the cheek. "I'll let your mother know." 

He said yes. -Lily

She texted as she walked back to her room.

They pulled up the the house and it seemed as if people were everywhere. They walked past a group on the front lawn chatting and straight to the front door and headed inside. Lily and Jas came with two other girls and they were going to meet the rest of them there.

Lighting was dim and the place was crowded but you had enough space to move around. Lily and Jas continues to walk through the house until they got to the backyard. There was music playing and people were dancing all around.

Jasmine departed form her to fetch them drinks. Lily took out her phone while she waited. 8:11. She read through a few things on her social media before switching to a game. She played the game until her friend returned with her drink.

"Here." Jas said handing her a red cup. Lily took a sip and as she expected it was just root beer.

Lily love that about Jasmine that whatever decisions or choices she has about things she didn't try to change it. Jasmine knew that she didn't drink so she always just gave her sodas when they went to parties.
As she and jasmine talked she looked around the room. There was a few girls dancing on the lawn. And some other girls had there feet in the pool. Then her eyes fell on him. She had not even thought of the fact that he would be here.

"Tyler is here." She said flatly to Jasmine.

"Where?" Right when she pointed him out to her he put his arm a girl. To her it felt like a punch to the stomach.

Her friend turned to her could see the hurt on her face. They were together for two years and he ended things three months ago. It seemed that he was moving on just fine.

"Do you wanna leave?"

"No. It's fine. Jas" she drank the rest of her drink. "I'm gonna go get more."

"Alright."

She navigated her way to where the drinks were. Everything was spread out on the counter. She needed up on just settling on a water bottle. As she was walking back she saw her friend talking to Mateo.

She went other way and tried to find an area that was less crowded with people. Which was very hard but she ended in a corner at the end of a hallway where the bathroom was. She pulled out her phone.

Went to the bathroom. -Lily

"I'll be right out." A girl's voice said. Lily looked up.

"Okay." Ocean said. She gave a quick smile and directed her eyes back to her phone. She could still feel his gaze on her so she looked up again. "So you lied to come to a party to stand in the corner away from everyone?"

"That wasn't the intention. It just got a bit complicated I guess." He just stared at her. She didn't know what else to say. "So what countries did you want to do for class?" She said nervously.

The door opened and the girl now stood between them a bit.

"I'll text you." He responded and went back to the party.

She scoffed at herself for being so strange.

The bathroom does not take that long where are you?- Jas

She headed back to where she left her friend. Jasmine was now the other girls they were suppose to meet up with. Then she felt a hand grip her arm.

"Lily, what are you doing here?" Tyler said in an almost demanding voice.

"Let go!" He dropped her arm. "It's a party everyone was invited."

"Yea but these types of parties aren't usually your type."

"I'm trying new things." She crossed her arms.

"Don't be like that."

"How do you want me to be? I don't know why you keep trying to push this lets be friends crap. You dumped before summer because I wouldn't have sex with you. Ty, you know how much an ass that makes you? The dumbest one."

"We were together for two years with nothing." Tyler snarled. "I just wanted you to prove you loved me!"

"Your a dumbass." Lily turned quickly, her braids almost hitting him in the face.

She walked back to her friends with an anger look in her eyes. She tried to get over her frustration but her chest rose and feel with anger. Her throated started to throb.

"What's wrong with you?" Melody asked.

"Nothing, just Tyler and his let's be friends crap." She breathed out.

"He can't be serious?"

"He better not be after what I just told him."

"That's right Lil. You tell him." Jasmine chimed in.
