Anastasia's POV
The crowd that I was looking at from atop was breathtaking.
Dragons, elves, and wolves in human and wolf form were scattered around everywhere. It was definitely over one thousand people ready to take down one witch who had abused her power greatly.
My father ordered that I, along with my siblings, stay inside, which I hated. I wanted to be outside with my mate and face the witch that had finally shown her face.
Yes, you heard right.
Beatrice finally showed her face a week after Lukas and I gathered everyone here, at my grandfather's pack.
And I was forced to stay inside along with my brother and sister. The three of us were quite angry at his orders but we still wanted to watch how things played out. So here the three of us stand with our faces pressed against a window, watching the fight in anticipation.
My eyes scan over the crowd until I land on something peculiar. My father was standing at the front of the crowd, almost face to face with Beatrice.
"What the hell!" I almost yell. My siblings look at me with confused faces.
"What is it?" Nerissa asks. I point to the front of the crowd where my father is.
"He's too weak to fight. He's gonna get himself killed!" Samouel says.
"We have to go get him," Nerissa adds.
I wanted to think that my father would willingly remove himself from that equation but I knew he was way too stubborn and angry to ever do so.
"We are never going to reach the front of that crowd. If we ever tried, we'd be dead before we even reached the mid-way point. Plus, there are guards everywhere." I explain.
"But he's our father, surely there's something we can do!" Samouel argues. I shake my head.
"The guards would kill themselves before ever letting us through," I explain.
Samouel looks to Nerissa. "Can't you hallucinate them?" She shakes her head, looking sad. "There's too many of them,"
I would be surprised if she could hallucinate them. The hallways were buzzing with excitement as everyone fought to see what was going on.
So we sat there and watched as the war finally begun.
Beatrice tried to perform some kind of spell but it was immediately blocked by Lukas who appeared in front of my father. My heart pounded rapidly in my chest as I watched.
Lukas made a swift motion with his hands before Beatrice fell onto her back. But I then gasp as I watch Lukas being thrown against a nearby tree. An elf tried to release an arrow at Beatrice but she was on her feet in a second, releasing a strong gust of wind from her palm that had the first few rows of warriors on their backs.
Beatrice spotted my father in the crowd and she smirked to herself, before blocking arrows with a force field.
"Athanasios, your warriors are very strong, but not nearly strong enough." She then held her hand to him before he fell limply to the floor.
Nerissa, Samouel, and my eyes all widened in sync as we watched our father go down. Lukas finally got up from the ground and he focused his eyes on Beatrice like a hawk. She was lifted high into the air and thrown far into the crowd.
Lukas made his way to my father and he took his body in his arms before their forms disappeared. They had teleported.
I then heard heavy breathing coming from behind me. I turn around to see Lukas putting my father on the couch. I run to help him, quickly followed by Samouel and Nerissa. Once we got him on the couch comfortably, we take a step back.
