Every now and then, I feel like I'm crying someone else's tears. The pain is a foreign echo of another person's suffering and yet it hurts almost as if it was mine while it tears my heart in to pieces. The sensation is so strange that once it's gone, I'm always left wondering if it's actually real or I just keep spiraling in the same illusion, over and over again.
Who are you?
The fading writing, scribbled on my arm with a black pen was real and when the 'illusion' ended and I woke up in my bed again, it was still there. In the middle of the night, I barged in to someone else's dream and caught a glimpse of their room and their life. My gaze traveled over the photographs that I saw hung up above a messy desk, but they were too far for me to see the people that were on them, then I was back in myself, gasping for air, holding on to my head and trying to make sense of everything that just happened. Just a year ago, I had what I thought was an ordinary life, but after a sudden attack of pain that appeared out of nowhere, everything changed.
'' Yoona! You have a customer! '' The sound of Junmyeon's voice made me snap out of my thoughts and raise my head from the sketch that I was working on. My eyes grew wide in alarm and my features twisted in to a cringe at the sight of the doodles that I started doing when I got distracted. Crumpling the now ruined sketch and frowning, I stood up and slowly made my way towards the front of the tattoo shop where I worked.
An incredibly bored Junmyeon was spinning around on his chair and trying to get inspired for the tattoo that he was planning to do in a couple of days. He opened one of his eyes when he heard the sound of my combat boots and gestured with his chin towards the figure that was standing in front of a poster with my artwork. I recognised him before he even turned around. His baggy white t-shirt was tucked in his pants, a striking green blazer was tied around his waist and he was wearing the same sunglasses as the last time that I saw him. When he turned around, his lips stretched in to a grin, he pointed at them and explained: '' I would take them off, but I'm using them to hide my disgust over the asymmetry of your tattoos. ''
Junmyeon almost fell off his chair when I tightened my grip around the crumpled up sketch that I was holding in my hand and threw the paper ball directly at Na Jaemin. He easily dodged the attack that was supposed to prevent him from escaping or doing anything else strange and he had to bite his lip to hold back his laughter when I pointed at him and screamed: '' What are you doing here?! ''
'' I warned you that she's not easy to work with. '' Junmyeon stood up, raised his hands in defense and nervously smiled at Jaemin. His blue leather jacket fell off the chair that he was sitting on and sunlight illuminated the galaxy tattoo that was wrapping itself around his right arm and shining in different hues of purple, blue and orange. '' I swear that this is not how we normally greet costumers. Besides, you said that you wanted a black and white tattoo, right? Yoona's specialty are colors. I'm the one who takes care of the black and white tattoos. ''
'' Oh no, I want her, '' Jaemin calmly responded, making me narrow my eyes and take a step back, almost as if he would try to pin me against the ground again. '' And to tell you the truth, that half an hour conversation that we just had about tattoos was complete bullshit. I'm actually here just to talk to Yoona... Oops? Stop looking so betrayed because you might actually make my heart feel something. ''
