If you're easily triggered i wouldn't read, or triggered by accusations of cheating in particular. I'm really excited to write this! More info will come along, I just wanted a dramatic opening :)
"Where have you been slipping off to at god-knows-what-time at night?!" Roman asked, anger evident in his eyes.
Virgil walked in from a night out in the city, and t h i s is what he came back to. Three unamused faces staring back at him from the couch at five am in the morning. He needed to cover up the bruises and clean the cuts on his leg (The Prince had really put up a fight last night, and he was a little disappointed in himself for not being able to wreak any more havoc than what he did, but alas), not to mention his suit was in his backpack, and he was doomed if they somehow stumbled across that. So, terrible a liar as he was, he tried for an excuse.
"Guys, I got a job at the local homeless centre, I've already sai-" He tried, before getting cut off by Roman
"Oh have you now? So if we go check now, they'll say you were there last night? And the night before last? And any other night you've slipped off? Because I'm not so sure." the normally dramatic and creative man accused, tears in his eyes. He added "Are you cheating on me?"
Virgil paled. He couldn't let them go and check, he would be caught straight in a lie. Virgil wasn't even so sure there w a s a homeless shelter in the city, nevermind working at one! And now Roman, the goddamn love of his life, his entire world thought he was cheating. What a great day this has been, and it's only 5am.
"Roman, now you know I wouldn't even think about cheating on yo-"
"Oh really, Virge? I'm not so sure anymore." Now that hurt.
"I said I'm not Roman."
"You'd say that either way, show me some pr-"
"I s a i d iM NO-"
"GUYS!" Patton shouted finally, tears in his eyes, still sat on the sofa, eyes desperate. "Guys, please."
Virgil looked over to see that Logan had at one point left the room, and neither Virgil nor Roman had noticed. Virgil felt a pang of guilt, and looked at Patton apologetically. Stealing a glance at Roman, Virgil saw a similar look on his face.
"Fighting is going to solve absolutely nothing! Nothing at all! Look what you've caused, you know Logan hates it when you two fight like this. I'm going to call the local homeless shelter and make sure Logan is okay, you two, talk this out please." And with that, Patton left the room, leaving behind a terrified Virgil and a concerned Roman. Said man was the first to speak, after an agonisingly long silence.
"I do hope Logan is okay..." Roman trailed off
"Yeah, same."
"Look, I'm sorry okay! I know I shouldn't assume, and I also know that you wouldn't do something like that, but you know what it's like when you get stuff in your head and-"
"Look, Roman, it's fine." Virgil cut the other off, nervously and albeit a little awkwardly putting their hand over the others and steeling their intense anxiety to be there for the other. "It'll end up okay. I know, it's sketchy, so anything you're worried about is valid.." they trailed off "But you'll see." they said, knowing that last phrase had a double truth behind it. Roman hugged the man in black, Virgil sitting down with the other and not hesitating to return the hug.
"Yeah. Thanks, Virgil."
"Yeah? Well, i'm sorry for worrying you. I didn't mean to." He replied, sincere.
The two just sat there, on the couch, cuddling. Virgil forced himself to stay relaxed until the princely man's breathing evened out, indicating he had fallen asleep.
"If you only knew a fraction of the terrible things i've done..."They whispered to the other, playing with his surprisingly soft hair.
If only Virgil knew Roman was still awake.
(644 words! :)
ok, bye for now! Stay safe, sleep enough, and have a good day/night y'all :))
