Saving Her Childhood

Chapter 2

I start to wake up as I feel someone poking my shoulder lightly. I growl softly but playfully as Angel just laughs as she wraps her arms around me.

I sit up in the chair and pull her into my lap,"Hey, how did you sleep?" A bit of concern is showing but she just continues smiling. "There were ponies! And...I had bad dream... but it okay! Because den there was a better dream!" She smiles a huge smile her face then I kiss her forehead. I had noticed she took the mask off.

I get a mind link from Jake saying they are having a dinner meeting with the new members of the neighborhood. "Want to play with another little girl that's about the same age as you?"

"Yeah!!" She scrambles off of my lap and grabs my hand and runs for the door.

"Hey, where do you think your going?!?" I say trying not to fall as she pulls me. I let her because it builds her confidence. "Wait she's not here yet if that's what you're thinking, missy. We need to get you a bath and a change of clothes first. Then we need to clean your room so that if she wants to share some of your toys it will be clean, okay?"

She groans loudly and I roll my eyes and smile as I take her upstairs to my bedroom. She takes her bath and takes a small nap before cleaning her room. Once we are done there is only about an hour left until the family will show up.

We go downstairs and Angel places her dolls on the floor and starts playing with them. Jake are I talking quietly when the doorbell rings. Time must have gone by quicker than I expected. I pick Angel up as she bounces excitedly on my hip when we open the door. My face falls as I don't see the little girl and I can smell a hint of blood.

I let them inside and we sit down at the table. Amy was back so she made us our food. "So, where's the little one?" I say to break the silence and look up at them. They exchange a glance.

"She's with her...grandmother" She states hesitantly and smiles down at her food almost evilly I look at the alpha and he nods his head, knowing what I'm thinking.

I stand up stretching, "Excuse me, sorry I need to use the restroom." I leave the room and I climb out of the nearest window so they don't hear or see me. I change into my wolf and bolt towards their house. Once I get to the fence line I listen closely and narrow my eyes. I hear whimpering. It sounds like it's outside.

I hear a door slam shut then a very low husky voice, "You're all mine tonight little girl. Your parents told me to have fun." I hear duck tape then I hear chains. Then I hear it. Loud whimpers. I realize whoever that is had covered her mouth.

I jump over the fence growling loudly. The male seems unaffected and I run towards him biting into his neck hard. I see the pain in his eyes before they go lifeless. 

My gaze goes over to the little girl and my heart breaks into two and I growl softly. She whimpers trying to push herself back onto the tree but it doesn't help. Her arms are above her head with chains that are burning into her flesh from the silver while her mouth is taped shut.

I quickly go behind the fence and shift while putting on some basketball shorts. I run over to her then try to rip the cuffs off. I wince hard from the pain then look around. I spot the man that had her captive. Blood spreading everywhere but I run over and start checking his pockets and everything else.

She starts to move and I quickly shake my head. "Hey, don't move okay? I'm going to help you just don't move." I panic before I find the key in his shoe. I grab his gloves and quickly take off the chains. I catch her as she falls and I lay her in my lap.

"Hey it's okay. Calm down, you're going to be okay...this is going to hurt...I'm sorry"  I rip the tape off of her mouth as she whimpers loudly. I pull her close to me and link the alpha. Get those two in the cells now! They had a guy here beating her up and chained her with silver! I'm coming back now have the pack doctor there, her wrists look bad from where she was struggling'

I get up slowly trying not to hurt her as much as possible then I run to the pack house. Once there I see the parents fighting the guards. I growl loudly and they look at me with anger plastered all over their faces. I shake my head as the guards disappear into the cells.

I take her inside and to the room I was in with Angel the night before and set her down gently. She had fallen asleep on my shoulder on the way here. The doctor nods to me and I walk out of the room to notice Angel standing at the door.

"Who's that?" She whispers as she holds her arms up. I sigh and push the hair out of her face.

"I'm not sure yet... but I think she will be living with us from now on"
