Saving Her Childhood

Chapter 3

Angel jumps out of my arms as the doctor opens the door. I've never seen her happier. She asks if she can enter before coming over to me.

"She will be okay she just needs to sleep right now. Also, don't touch her wrists. They are wrapped in bandages but they are still sore to the touch. Once she wakes we will need to put her on a diet. She is very skinny for her age but we can fix that. She has many scars I'm guessing from her parents or someone else." I growl softly and sigh as I nod, understanding everything. "Do you know when she will wake?" I ask and he slowly shakes his head.

I nod once again. "Well I'll link you once she wakes. Angel and I will stay in the room with her. I think Angel loves her already" I laugh and so does he. "Alright you should sleep. Thanks again." I walk inside the room and almost get teary eyed as I see Angel laying in the bed with the girl. They are both asleep and Angel is hugging her. I sink down into the chair beside the bed then I lay my head down next to Angels legs. I drift off into sleep smiling a little.

I let out a huge yawn as I lift up my arms and stretch. After opening my eyes I almost jump up out of my skin, seeing blue eyes staring back at me. She scoots away slowly and I get up and shake my head slowly.

"Hey! Hey! It's okay I'm not gonna hurt you!" I go to her side and take her tiny hands in mine. I smile at her as I kiss one of her hands. "You're going to live with me and my sister okay..? I will protect you I won't hurt you, I promise.

I pull her into my lap as I hug her and she snuggles into my chest. After about an hour I feel the bed start to shift. I look behind me and see Angel staring at me. I turn to where she can see the girl and Angel smiles big.

"Hi! You pwetty! What your name?" She gets closer and I watch both of them closely. The girl looks down as she speaks in an extremely quiet whisper. "K-Kinsey....." I smile down at her. "Well that is a beautiful name!" I can see her cheeks turn pink as she hides her face in my chest. I pull her head away and kiss her forehead.

I see her smile a little, which causes me to smile. I hear her stomach growl and she starts to panic trying to get out of my arms. "Hey! Hey, calm down it's okay! What's wrong? I'll go get you some food. Angel, honey, stay with her okay?" Angel nods and wraps her arms around her. I wipe away Kinsey's tears then run down to the kitchen.

I cut up some fruit that consists of strawberries, bananas, blueberries, raspberries, apples, and grapes then I run back upstairs. Once I get there I set the plate in front of her. She just stares at it and my eyebrows furrow together. I lift up the fork into her hand gently then I lift it into her mouth. She chews it slowly then looks up at me.

"It's okay to eat....you don't have to wait on me okay?" She nods slowly then starts eating it slowly on her own. I look up at Angel and see her staring at Kinsey sadly. "Hey Angel, why don't you go get Jake to make you some breakfast?" she looks up quickly and nods while smiling. "Yay! Jakey!" After that she gets up and runs out of the room while I wait for Kinsey to finish. Once she can't eat anymore she pushes the plate away. She didn't eat much but I don't push her so I just lift her into my arms.

"Do you want to watch a movie?" She tilts her head with a confused expression and my mouth drops. "You have never seen a movie before?!?!" She backs away and I immediately regret saying it as I hug her closely. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to yell it's just I'm shocked. How old are you..?" She olds up 4 fingers and I smile at her and sit on the couch. With her curled up in my lap. I turn on finding Nemo and her eyes are glued to the television. I decide to mink link Jake.

'Hey everything okay with Angel?'
'Yup! She ate and now she's playing with the other kids' I tell him thanks and cut the link. Once I look down I notice Kinsey had fallen asleep. I slowly grab a stuffed panda and scoot it closer to her. Out of instinct she grabs it and hugs it to her chest. I smile and run my hand through her hair slowly. She needs a bath.. I guess I'll give her one when she gets up. Angel also needs a bath so I will get hers once she comes back.

I lay there for a while until I get a mindlink from Jake. 'They let the parents get away'

'Wait what??' I set Kinsey down on the couch and make sure I didn't wake her then I run down the stairs to where Jake is holding Angel. I take her from him and give him a confused look. "How did they just get away? There's no way!"

"Conner left the gate unlocked. He's in a cell now and we are searching for the parents but they are no where to be found at the moment.

I sigh frustrated as I set Angel down and start pacing back and forth. Jakes eyes gloss over then he looks up at me. "Uh... they found them... but they aren't alone..."
