Shoes pt 2 August 20th 2013

The teacher said,

To replace my shoes

With Langston Hughes's

I don't know if I can write like you

But this is my poem for English 2

It's never easy to know what is true

That goes for me and of course for you

Even though this is where I've grown

I've never heard this city's voice or its groans

But I've heard the people that live here

And I've seen the people that give here

And what of me?

Well there's not much to see
