Nathan stands by the door as I pack my suitcase. It doesn't really take long because I didn't bring many clothes with me to begin with.
"Is this really necessary?" I ask as I zip up the suitcase.
Nathan remains leaning against the door frame with his arms crossed. "He could've hurt you." he says with an emotionless tone, but I can see the slight hint of fear in his eyes. "I won't give him another chance"
"Nathan-"
"I can't risk you or the baby getting hurt... I just can't."
I watch as he pushes himself off of the door frame and walks out of the room.
Feeling a bit guilty for trying to convince him to let me stay I realize he's right, the baby comes first.
I walk towards the front door where Vivian and Dean are waiting for me with Rose. Walking up to Rose first I give her a kiss on the cheek. She reaches her hands out for me to hold her, but I give Vivian, who's carrying Rose, a quick side hug goodbye.
I turn to Dean and he hugs me. I'm really going to miss seeing them everyday but this was bound to happen.
"I'll make sure I come visit often!" I say before Nathan and I leave.
Once in the car we sit in silence. I'm happy that Nathan and I are moving forward in our relationship except-
"This wasn't exactly how I imagined you'd be moving in" Nathan says as he starts the car.
"You read my mind"
Nathan reaches over taking my hand in his. With his thumb he makes circles on the back of my hand in a soothing way.
"It doesn't matter why I'm moving in. As long as I'm with you I don't care"
I can see Nathan smile as he focuses on driving. It's that type of smile that could make your knees go weak, but luckily I'm sitting.
"I'm glad you're on a positive mindset because we have to tell Ailee"
Oh wow I completely forgot about all of that.
**********
Nathan opens the door for me and I walk through only to be met with an excited Ailee.
"Lark!" She yells as she runs up to hug me. She wraps her arms around me tightly and I smile at how happy she is.
Nathan walks in with my suitcase but stops when he sees Ailee. "Ailee please be careful" he tells her as he walks up to move her but I put my hand up to stop him.
"It's okay" I say as I hug her back.
Nathan and I sit at the table silently while Ailee eats some cereal. I can feel myself getting more and more nervous as time goes by. I value Ailee's opinion and if she doesn't want me here I would completely understand.
"Ailee?" Nathan says in an attempt to get her attention, but the most we get is a 'hm' from her while she continues to eat her cereal.
I take a deep breath to calm my nerves. "Ailee we're going to tell you three very important things"
Ailee immediately looks up and focuses on us. I nudge Nathan, signaling him to start.
"Okay-"
"Let me guess" Ailee says before Nathan can actually start. "Lark I read you're pregnant so that's one of the news. Based on how much time Nathan has been spending with you it must be his baby as well" she says confidently. Her eyes narrow onto my left hand and I can almost see a lightbulb go off in her head. "You two are engaged and since I saw the suitcase, Lark must be moving in"
