You know those terrible dreams that you had as a kid? Don't lie, every one had them. Well, picture that with much more detail and a reality factor and you'd be having my dream. Welcome to the club.

I wake up gasping for air, swimming in a pool of cold sweat. Its three in the morning and the third day this has happened. It's three days after being stuck on that island. Yeah, I know I was only there for a day but still, it changed me. Loki's head pops up and stares at me with big innocent eyes.

"Come on, let's go for a run." I whisper to him.

two minutes later I'm out of the barracks and running through the base. Loki stays right at my heel. Pretty soon I'm jogging out the base and into the desert. I don't know how long I've been running but I can see the sky getting lighter. I stop and sit down, staring at the stars while I still can. Loki sits down next to me and I stroke his fur.

"I remember when I first met you" I say to him. "I'd been training to work with you for a month, alongside my basic training. So the moment I saw you I was so happy I could have burst trying to hold it all in. The moment they let you out of that cage you ran over to me and knocked me onto my but!" I laugh.

I get up and run back towards the base. By the time I get to the time I get there the sun is just barely over the horizon. Loki is panting hard as we walk towards the makeshift defac, (that's the military's fancy word for cafeteria.) The thing is pretty much just a giant tent with a bunch of rickety metal poles holding it up.

"How far'd you get this time." Boogie Man asks me upon my arrival.

"Farther than I'd like " I chuckle

So apparently after leaking fuel over the desert for about an hour, the C-17 ran out of fuel about two klicks out of the base. So the pilot decides that he wants to bend the laws of gravity and glides for two kilometers and lands still makes a clean landing on the runway.

I walk over and sit down with Lucky and beans.

"I guess you really are lucky" I say to Lucky upon sitting down.

"Oh for the last time, that was not luck we just had an awesome pilot." he replies

"Fine, fine." I say putting my hands up in surrender.

Loki stares up at me begging for food. I grab a sausage and he almost bites my hand off trying to get it. I sigh as he barely chews and tries to swallow the whole thing.

After finishing my breakfast I walk over to the med tent. upon entering I'm greeted by the sound of the TV.

"Hey Lucas answer a question for me," she says, "did you or did you not pull the bullet out of my side?"

"Yeah, but you still tried to avoid it." I laugh.

"Even in death, I will still hate any sort of medical procedure." she jokes

"Hahahaha oohh owowow!" she says. "don't make me laugh it hurts!" she winces.

"But I thought laughter was the best medicine." I tease, which leads to another round of painful laughing.

"I will kill you!" she yells

"Fine, fine I'll stop. " I say

"The Syrian government has now officially declared war on us," the TV speaks, "Their allies threaten to join the fight if we do not back down."

"Great. now where fighting two wars." I say.
