It had been a couple of days since we left terminus and Glenn was either furious or very distant. I honestly I wish I could do something. I couldn’t even fathom it. Maggie his wife was gone. I tried to talk to him but the only person that could reach out to him was either Tara or Samara. Even though they were very new and it was disappointing that he didn’t want to talk to the rest of us it brought us comfort, that at least he had some company.

We had set up camp for the night near a stream that was underneath a bridge and the tree line was beside it. The water was still fairly clear considering that walkers had probably gone through it. I’m not sure if the water was contaminated or not, but the group didn’t honestly care. We were tired, hungry and thirsty as hell. Daryl built a fire, and then he went out to go hunting. I was sitting beside, Hunter, Carl and Michonne. I stroked my brother’s hair as he laid on the dirt asleep. Hunter was almost drifting to sleep and Michonne and I sat up straight. Glenn was busy making dents into the trees with his hatchet.  Slowly and silently I got up from the ground and walked over to him. “Glenn.” I spoke softly. He didn’t respond and continued to hit the tree. “Glenn!” I yelled and rested my hand on his shoulder. “What the hell do you want Wynter?!? Go back to your family and your good life.” He spat. I scoffed. “You think I have a better life than you? Glenn I’ve lost ones whom I loved I lost my mom for god’s sake! I lost Daryl for about 4 months straight you’ve seen me. I know it hurts. I wish I could go back and change something if I could to make her live. But I can’t.  You can’t. You have to be strong for Maggie she wouldn’t have wanted you to be like this.” His breathing was heavy and tears welled up in his eyes. I embraced him tightly and he returned it.  “Please come back with us. You need rest, and some food, you can’t stay out here forever.” He reluctantly came back with me to the fire. Everyone stared at us intently and Daryl was walking out of the woods with a couple of rabbits that were tied on a string. “It ain’t much but it will have to do.” He stated tossing them to Rick. Samara took them form Rick and started to cook them.
We moaned in delight as the food went into our bodies. It wasn’t much but it was something.  I sat next to Daryl and I grasped onto his hand. He intertwined his fingers with mine and Rick sat beside Michonne. The rest of the group sat around the fire. Everyone was silent as they ate. Taking a deep breath I sang quietly. It was silent so I decided to sing what about angels. (I seriously really love this song a really beautiful song.)

We know full well there's just time
So is it wrong to toss this line?
If your heart was full of love
Could you give it up?
'Cause what about, what about angels?
They will come, they will go, make us special oh oh oh
Don't give me up
Don't give,
Me up
How unfair, it's just our love
Found something real that's out of touch
But if you'd searched the whole wide world
Ho oh oh would you dare to let it go?'Cause what about, what about angels?
They will come, they will go, make us special oh oh oh
Don't give me up
Don't give,
Me up
'Cause what about, what about angels?
They will come, they will go, make us special
It's not about not about angels, angels

It fell completely silent and Everyone ate. “That’s a good song.” Hunter said groggily as she awakened. “I guess.” Samara replied. Rick nodded at me and I returned it. “Alright listen we have a long day tomorrow. We got to find a safe haven. I don’t know where it is but we’ll find one.” He said. “How can you be so sure?” Glenn and Samara asked in unison. “That’s what you told us about the farm and the prison look what happened.” Carol told us. “Listen to my father.” I responded. “I agree there is somewhere we just have to find it and hope.” I replied. Everyone sighed and we all spread out and laid down, to get some rest. “Do you think there is a safe haven?” I asked Daryl as he stood beside me taking watch. He nodded. “I guess do ya really believe?” He asked me. “I want to but I can’t. There will never be a safe haven in this living hell. One way another we will die at some point whether it’s by a stranger or a walker, deprivation, or a bullet to the head. Point is there will never be a sanctuary where we will be safe forever.” I replied. “Ya got nothing to worry about while I’m around. I’ll protect ya.” He responded. I laid my head on his shoulder. “I know.” I replied kissing him on the lips. "Get some sleep i'll take watch." He responded. Reluctantly I did as I was told and I drifted to sleep.
