Lillian
Crickets. All Lillian could hear was the soft chirp of crickets, the stars filled her eyes as she layed in the soft grass field with her brother "We're gonna have to get back to camp at some point," Lucas, her brother, says to her a smile on his face teasing his sister.
"Yes, I know." Lillian let out a deep sigh rolling her eyes at him, the stars just seemed to let her breath easier then anything back at the church. It had been 10 years since the calapse of the human race, gods perfect hunter, the vampire, had now ruled the world. Humans like her and Lucas were far and few between because of the bloodsuckers, they now lived in a old cathedral with a small community of survivors.
"You know if you don't get your ass up Lilah I'll drag you there myself," Lucas said in a teasing tone, though the two griped at one another they were one another's rock the only other person they felt either had left.
"Yea, yea."Lillian said slowly getting up dusting her dress off, before heading back to the cathedral passing by the camps and watchtowers of the commune.
"I can't believe you two! You had me worried sick and for what getting to see the stars?" Sister Garcia nagged tapping her foot hands on her hips before rushing toward quickly looking them over to see if they had been hurt or bitten. Sister Garcia had been like a mother to Lucas and Lillian, there parents never survived.... they were killed by bloodsuckers.
Lucas smiled, "But we're fine isn't that all that matters?" He says turning up the charm as Sister Garcia rolls her eyes.
"And you Lilah? Oh, come on sweetie, you need to stay out of trouble if you want to become a sister." She comes up to Lillian stroking her cheek. She has always done this as a show of love but, her eyes always showed sadness and pity.
"Sorry sister, I won't do it again," Lillian says sorrowfully but, knowing full well She will again, but sister Garciadidn't need to know that.
Sister Garcia takes a few steps back and a deep breath, looking us over a finale time. "Alright you two head upstairs to bed and I'll keep this between us," she smiled before turning and walking off.
" Way to go, dork," Lucas said, bumping lilah with his elbow before walking towards our rooms, through the large arch ways and bricks of the church.
"What did I do?" Lilah asked eyebrows scrunched walking behind him.
"Oh please dearest brother watch the stars with me," he said in a tone to mock her voice, "And now Garcia is upset with us" he finished with a smirk showing who didn't really mind, sherolled my eyes.
"Last time I checked you had a choice," Lilah said her tone cocky
"Sorry I thought a nun in training would be a good influence," he quickly said giving her side-eye.
"I might be a nun but I never said a good one," Lilah laughed out, Lucas shook his head at her.
"Why did you even become a nun then? Virgin for life and wife of none doesn't sound that fun?" Lucas asked, but Lilah just looked around at the ground truly She couldn't give him an answer. She just never was attracted to any boys she knew. They seemed, She didn't know.... unimportant? Like they didn't need them for that?
"Yeah well, I'm gracious enough to sacrifice that," Lilah smirked covering the truth behind why. They came upon their doors, they had been designated to be right beside one another, not usually allowed in the church, females and males had separate halls, but they let them slide.
"Oh please, you? Gracious?" Lucas said walking in.
Lilah snickered yelling a quick "Goodnight!" before heading to my own room and going to bed happily.

She awoke in the dark to a blood-curdling scream. She look around in the pitch black room checking everything over out of reflex as she quickly got to her feet planning to check with Lucas and make sure he was ok. But then a ear aching ring rang through out her body, almost deafening her.... the warning bell
Vampires! Her eyes went wide. All Lilah could think was "Get Lucas." As She ran out of my room in just her white night gown, something she could have gotten in trouble for regularly, She spotted Lucas coming out of his room as if he had the same thought as Her.
Lucas came up to her, his bow on hand and arrow already loaded "You need to go hide with the Nuns." He said without his usual light tone, instead her showed a emotion he'd never admit to, fear.
"But what about you?" Lilah stammered out. Lucas looked at her for a second, then started walking said towards the nuns without a word being said.
I knew what he was going to do he was gonna go fight them off.
Lilah screamed for him to stop as he dragged her to the safety of the nuns. As tears rolled down her cheeks, fear filled her of losing him. "You can't go! You have to stay with me!" I cried.
They got to the nuns as they started filling into the hidden bunker and Lucas finally said something to me. "I'm gonna be fine," he said trying to be reassuring, but She could tell he was scared. Before she could speak, She was shoved into the bunker.
As Lillian sat there, nuns praying around her with their rosaries in hand as if it itself would change the world, all she could think of was if her brother was dead. They heard banging and screams coming from the outside and with each one, She hoped it wasn't Lucas.
The nuns and her sat in there for hours, her cheeks stained with tears as she sat there beside Sister Garcia, who comforted her. I was emotionally drained, my eyes were red and puffy from the crying.
It was still loud outside, but different. It was people talking not just screaming of people dying, someone was getting closer to the hatch of the bunker. She could hear their footsteps. Left, right, left, right, and left as they landed on the hatch.
There was a huge bang—they had broken the hatch. There is where Lillian made eye contact with her..... the golden eyes pierced Lillian eyes so deeply into her sole and she was so emotionally drained she no longer could stand and past out to the ground.
