Not To Be Expected

I haven't thought about Nolan for a long time but here I am sitting on my bed crying because I know he has moved on. I know thats what I want him to do but still it hurts. I don't understand why after months I was still so sad about him moving on but I can't help it. I mean in a way I have moved on but still the love I have for Nolan is still here and it hurts because I'll never be with him again.

"Elaine? What's wrong?" Adam said as he sat on my bed.

"Nothing." I said as I laid back down.

"Then why were you crying?" He asked and laid down beside me.

"It's nothing." I said with no emotion.

"Yes it is. Please tell me." He begged.

"I was thinking about the guy I was with before this shit happened." I said as I threw my hands up in the air.

"Oh. Well, what's he like?" He asked.

I looked at him in shock. "Um... he's really nice and caring. He made me so mad sometimes but still I cared about him." I said.

"Why are you saying all of this in past tints?" He asked.

"Cause I know we will never be together again." I said sadly.

"Well, you never know." He said as he wrapped his arm around me.

"I do know and if we get out, I'll go back and he will have moved on. I'm not so special that a guy would wait forever before dating again." I said and laid my head on him.

"You are special and if I was him, Id wait forever hoping you'd come back." He said. I smiled and moved closer to him.

"Thanks." I said in a whisper.

"Your welcome. Well, I should go back to my bed before he see us." He said then kissed my head. "I'll see you soon." He got up and started walking back to his bed.

"Okay, Adam." I said with a smile. He looked at me and smiled before going back to his room.

I close my eyes and slowly fall asleep, for the first time in months, happy.

I woke up to Eliza screaming. I jumped up and ran out our room. I saw Eliza on the ground with blood coming out of her head and Nathan with a heavy looking object in his hand.

I heard Adam yelling from his room and trying yo get out but Nathan locked his door. He turned his head to me and smiled.

"It's time for some fun, beautiful." Nathan said and lunged at me. I screamed as he grabbed me and dragged me into a room I have never been in.
