I sit on my porch smiling and sipping my lemonade watching Nia and Che roll around and play in the grass.
My phone vibrates. I see a text from Maria.
"𝙹𝚊𝚜𝚖𝚒𝚗𝚎 𝚕𝚘𝚜𝚝 𝚑𝚎𝚛 𝚙𝚊𝚛𝚘𝚕𝚎 𝚑𝚎𝚊𝚛𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚝𝚑𝚊𝚝 𝚋𝚒𝚝𝚌𝚑 𝚗𝚎𝚟𝚎𝚛 𝚐𝚎𝚝𝚝𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚘𝚞𝚝 𝙷𝙰𝙷𝚂𝙷𝙰𝙷𝙰𝙷𝙰𝙷𝙰𝙷𝙰𝙷".
I text her back.
"𝚂𝚑𝚎 𝚠𝚊𝚜 𝚜𝚞𝚌𝚑 𝚊 𝚜𝚒𝚌𝚔 𝚒𝚗𝚍𝚒𝚟𝚒𝚍𝚞𝚊𝚕... 𝙱𝚞𝚝 𝚒 𝚊𝚖 𝚜𝚘 𝚐𝚕𝚊𝚍 𝚒 𝚍𝚒𝚍𝚗'𝚝 𝚔𝚒𝚕𝚕 𝚑𝚎𝚛 𝚋𝚎𝚌𝚊𝚞𝚜𝚎 𝚒 𝚠𝚘𝚞𝚕𝚍𝚗'𝚝 𝚋𝚎 𝚊𝚋𝚕𝚎 𝚝𝚘 𝚠𝚊𝚝𝚌𝚑 𝙲𝚑𝚎 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝙽𝚒𝚊 𝚙𝚕𝚊𝚢 𝚛𝚗💕".
"Mama mama" Nia taps me and hands me a rose. "Is this for me" I smile and sniff the flower. "Daddy" Nia points at Che. "From daddy" I smile. She nods her head and her curls bounce. She runs back to the grass her brown skin and eyes glisten with the sun.
"Get up Che taps my leg"
"This is my relax time"
"Nope play time" Che grabs me and we run to the grass.
"SANDWICH" Che yells and lays on the ground.
"YAY" Nia screams. I lay on top of Che and Nia lays on my back. "This a dry sandwich all we got is meat and bread" Che chuckles. "It's okay" I smile "we will have another ingredient very soon". Che's eyes grow big. "Are you implying what I think you are implying". "Idk am I" I smile. Che and I kiss. "Bubbllesss" Nia rolls off my back. I go get the bottle of bubbles and we all play and blow bubbles until sunset. Moments like these are things I will cherish forever.
