"I don't get it."
Tyler said looking at the paper, confused. He saw a lot of greys, but Josh kept telling him he was wrong.
"These are bright and dark colors, Tyler, you should be able to see them. They aren't gray."
Josh sat next to Tyler, pointing at all of the different colors in the paper that Tyler was holding in his hands, just so he could tell what "colors" Tyler was looking at.
"Josh, I already told you, I can't see them right, I'm a weird kid who can't see colors at all."

Josh tried to find the right word, or in this case, color. He wouldn't like to get Tyler confused by a wrong choice of color.
It was simple, yet Josh couldn't think of it, so Tyler said it instead.
"Gray."
