| CRUSH: CHAPTER 4 |

✧✧✧

"So you like her?"

"When did you meet her?"

"How did you meet her."

"Okay, guys. One at a time." Corey said putting his hands up in front of the two girls.

"I can't believe it, Corey actually has a crush on someone." Rowan said putting her hand on her head. "Can you believe this Sabrina?"

"I really can't." she said surprised as well.

"I get it, I'm a loser. But there is a reason why I called you. I need advice." he explained sitting on his couch.

"Yes, give it to me. I'm amazing at giving advice." Sabrina said sitting next to him. Rowan rolls her eyes and sits on the other side of him.

"Not true. Last time I asked you for advice, he ran away screaming."

"Hey, that wasn't my fault. You're the one that-"

"Guys, focus. I really like her." Corey said putting his head into his hands. Rowan and Sabrina look at each other and then Corey.

"So what's the problem?" Rowan asks.

"She said she doesn't want a relationship. That she wants to focus on her career and not fall in love."

"She has her priorities straight, I like her." Sabrina shrugged, but Corey and Rowan looked at her with disbelief.

"Sabrina, we're trying to make him feel better. Not worse." Rowan said motioning towards him.

"Right, sorry. I mean, the most you can do is talk to her, and show her how great you can really be. And if she can't see that, than she's not the one for you." she pointed at him, raising her eyebrows.

"Sabrina's right. There are plenty of fish in the sea, and she's not going to be the only one you meet and fall in love with. Remember that." Rowan nodded. He looked between his two best friends and smiled.

"Thanks guys. I love you." he hugged them both.

"We love you too Corey. Just remember, be you. That's all you can do." Rowan smiled and Sabrina agreed.

Bailey was cooking dinner for her and Meg, while she waited for her to arrive. The doorbell rang, and while Bailey thought it was her best friend, it was definitely wasn't.

"Milo. Hey." she smiled opening the door for him to come in. "What are you doing here." she closed the door as he walked into the kitchen.

"Meg said that you two were having dinner, and she wanted me to join. I can leave, I totally understand." he said popping his knuckles.

"No, it's okay. Sit down, it's almost done. Meg should be here soon." she gestured towards the bar stools that sat by the island. He watches her cut the vegetables, and sits down.

"How have you been? It's been a few weeks since that party." Milo asked, beginning to help cut the carrots.

"Good, I find out if I get this part tomorrow, and I really hope I get it." she said.

"I hope you get it as well." he smiles, and she smiles back. Then, her phone rings. It was Meg.

"Hold on." Bailey wiped off her hands and grabbed her phone. She heads towards her room leaving Milo in the kitchen.

"Hey, thanks for telling me that you were inviting Milo. Also, where are you?" she asks, sitting on the bed.

"No problem. Also, I kinda can't come."

"What?"

"Yeah, I have to...work?"

"Bullshit. I know you did this to set me up with Milo." Bailey whispered so Milo couldn't hear her.

"You're going to thank me later. Have funnn."

"Don't you hang up-" but it was too late, Meg already ended the call.

"And she hung up." Bailey said to herself, sighing. She walks back out to the kitchen to see Milo still cutting the veggies.

"So, Meg isn't coming. But you're welcome to stay. We could like, watch Netflix or something." Bailey shrugs, putting the food into the pan.

"Oh, okay. Is everything okay?"

Bailey looks up at him. "Yeah, she forgot that she had to do something tonight. That's all."

He nods and they continue to cook the meal.

After the food was finally done, the two sit by each other on the stools, carrying on with their conversation. It was easy for the two to talk, and it was never awkward. They always had something to say to one another. They laughed and ate, and Bailey couldn't ignore the feeling that was inside her.

Maybe she was falling for Milo. He was just perfect. He was kind, gentle, and especially not boring. She could talk with him for hours. Which they did, until Bailey noticed that it was already 11 p.m.

"Wow, we've been talking for the past five hours." she said looking at the time, and getting ready to do the dishes. "Yeah, lost track of time." he laughed, helping her.

"You sure make that easy." Bailey shakes her head, washing the dishes in the sink.

"And I loved every minute of it." he said, moving closer to her. She looks up at him, and she notices that he was looking at her. After a few seconds, he began to lean down towards her. She begins to do the same, but then their was a knock on the door.

The two freeze, and Bailey slightly coughs. "I'll go get that."

She walks to the door, and opens it to see Meg smiling and wiggling her eyebrows.

"Hey girl, how'd it-" she stopped when she saw Milo walk next to her.

"Oh, you're still here Mii." she said smirking at Bailey.

"I was actually about to go. Thank you for having me over Bailey. I enjoyed us talking." he said grabbing his keys. "No problem, and I did too." she smiled at him. He smiled as well, and walked past Meg to leave.

Meg quickly closes the door and faces her best friend.

"How did it go." she asked. But before Bailey could answer, she hit her on the arm.

"Ow, what was that for."

"For leaving me with him. Of course, I loved it. But still, how could you." she hit her again two more times.

"You'll thank me later." she winked, holding her arm.

"Whatever, help me clean up and we're watching a movie." Bailey sighed heading for the kitchen, while Meg followed.

"You so love me for this." Meg said handing her a dish.

As much as Bailey didn't want to admit it, she was kinda glad that Meg didn't come to dinner tonight.
