| CRUSH: CHAPTER ONE |

✧ ✧✧

Bailey opened her eyes to see that she wasn't dreaming. It was true. She really did move to LA to follow her dreams. Smiling wide, she rushes out of bed and slides on her hardwood floor towards the kitchen. Putting a cup into her Keurig, she waits for the coffee to spill out of the machine.

Today she had her first audition, something for a new TV show on Hulu. Thanks to her dad, she already had many things to audition for, and since she is his daughter, there would be no problem of her getting a part. Bailey was very good at what she does, she was taught by the best. Her father was once an actor, but retired because he wanted to raise a family.

Her coffee finally stops, and she grabs it heading towards the couch. Grabbing her laptop, she kills time before she had to get ready for the audition. But before she got comfortable, the doorbell rang. She looked at the time to see that it was nine in the morning. Who would be here at this time? She wasn't expecting anyone.

"You better open this door, I miss my bestie!" she hears through the door and Bailey immediately got up to open the door.

"MEG!" Bailey screamed, bringing the girl into a tight hug. "God I missed you."

"Me too! You never came and visited after that vacation." Meg said coming in and setting her purse on the island.

"I was busy finishing school, you know that. What did I miss in LA?" Bailey asks leading the two to the couch.

Meg Donnelly was Bailey's best friend. They met through their parents who were old friends, who knew each other from the acting industry. Meg has been in the acting industry for years, giving Bailey close connections to directors and producers.

"The question is what didn't you miss?" Meg laughs sitting close to Bailey. "It was boring without you here. I haven't seen you since last summer." she hugged her.

"Well, now I'm here. Also, I heard that you just finished filming Zombies 2. How did that go?"

"It was amazing. You have to meet the cast. They're all amazing people. Also Canada was amazing. And overall, amazing." she explained.

"If you say amazing one more time, I might lose it." Bailey laughed.

"Actually, we're having a small party at Milo's place. You have to come."

"I really need to focus on my acting and school-"

"No, you're going. Just one night, and then you can focus. Please." she gives her a pout, and Bailey had to give in.

"Fine, only because you're my friend." Bailey said and Meg gets up excitedly and jumps up and down.

"Great, now. I'm going with you to that audition. Cause that's what friends do. Come on, we need to find you an outfit." Meg pulls Bailey towards her bedroom, making her almost spill her coffee.

While Bailey curled her hair, Meg was on her phone laying on her bed. "So, Milo? Is that the tall one?" Bailey asked.

"Yeah, he's pretty cool. You guys are like almost similar, it was kind of freaky. You two would be good friends." Meg said still looking at her phone. Then, she instantly looks up at Bailey, giving her a sly look.

"Don't you even say it." Bailey pointed her finger.

"How do you know what I'm about to say." Meg sighs.

"Cause I know you. And I don't want to hear it."

"Come on, Bailey. You haven't dated in years, and Milo is a great guy. He's been single for awhile after breaking up with Holiday. I can totally hook you up with him."

"The answer is no. You know that I don't want to date. I want to focus on my dream to become successful, like my father." Bailey sighed, turning off the curling iron.

"But what kind of life is that? Come on Bailey." Meg pleaded.

"Like I said. No distractions. This topic of conversation is O-V-E-R. Over. Got it?" Bailey asked, grabbing her bag.

"Fine. But, Milo is still pretty cute." she whispered the last part and walking out of the room. Bailey rolled her eyes and followed her out.

"It sounds like you like him." Bailey smiled.

"No way, he's like a brother to me. Besides, I'm not his type."

"And I would be?" Bailey scoffed.

"Like I said, you two are exactly the same person." she smiled and opened the apartment door.

While Bailey locked the door of her apartment with Meg waiting beside her, they hear a door closing behind them. They both turn around, and to Meg's surprise, she knew him. A fellow Disney star actor.

"Hey Corey." Bailey smiled slightly at the boy.

Corey looked at Meg, and instantly recognized her too. He looked back over at Bailey.

"Hey." he said nervously.

"Corey? You live here?" Meg asked him and he nodded.

"You know each other?" Bailey asked looking back and forth at them.

"Yeah, he works for Disney. We're mostly all friends or like Disney says, a whole big family." Meg smiled. Bailey looked at Corey confused. She was surprised to hear that he was an actor too. Why didn't she recognize him?

"I used to play Farkle, on Girl Meets World." he said putting his hands in his pockets. Bailey could tell that he was nervous talking to her, but why?

"No wonder I didn't recognize you! You look so much more different." Bailey said. "I haven't watched Disney in years." she explained.

"Oh shoot, we're going to be late Bailey." Meg said looking at her phone.

"Shoot, you're right. Um, nice talking to you again Corey. See you later." she waved and walked backwards to catch up with Meg.

"Yeah, see you later." Corey said quietly. He watches her leave, and sighs. Nervousness doesn't look good on him he thought to himself. Why was he so nervous? He was usually good at talking to girls, but this was different. His hands would get all clammy, and his heart rate would go up whenever he saw her.

"I'm going to need a professional at this. Well, more like two of them." he said walking into his apartment and grabbing his phone.
