hyerim was already seated in their designated seats when jisung found her. he smiled at the small yawn she had let out behind the palm of her hand and settled in next to her.

"you're tired already?" he asked.

"always," hyerim joked. "oh, hey. you have something on your jacket."

she grabbed jisung's wrist and gently pulled it towards her. at the contact, he had winced, catching her attention.

she glanced at his eyes in an attempt to decipher his unsaid thoughts. "sorry. did i grab too hard?"

he shook his head. "i just have a bruise on my arm. it's alright."

hyerim wanted to frown but she held it back. a lump got caught in her throat upon hearing the all too familiar excuse. doing her best to put it off to the side, she brushed off the piece of lint from his jacket and released the light grasp on his arm.

"thanks," jisung softly mumbled.

when the train began to move, hyerim stared out of the window, watching the station and nature zoom by. jisung, on the other hand, had found temporary interest in his fiddling fingers.

what if she knows? will she think i'm crazy? weird?

sometime during the ride, he finally built up a somewhat decent amount of courage to face hyerim. he turned and was met with a sleeping girl. her head leaned against the glass and he absentmindedly frowned at how uncomfortable she looked.

with some hesitation, he reached over and pulled her so she was leaning on his shoulder. he watched as her face softened and relaxed.

"if you do know.." jisung muttered, barely audible. "please don't see me any differently than you do now."

sunwoo sat near the aisle, observing his two friends from a distance.

he had a small smile on his face as he told doyeon, "ji moved her head to his shoulder."

the older girl looked up from her phone screen and leaned in front of sunwoo to look.

"they both obviously like each other, so why won't they both confess?" doyeon sighed.

"because it hasn't even been a month since they met," sunwoo responded. "but.. i can see why we all want them together. ever since his mom remarried, jisung hasn't been like this."

doyeon nodded, understanding the situation. "he deserves a nice, caring girl, like hyerim. i really like her. she's able to make the old jisung come back and it's a nice feeling."

a surge of happiness filling his veins, sunwoo kept his eye on jisung as he rested his head upon hyerim's.

"i think the rest of his friends will be happy that jisung's coming back."
