Chapter 1: I am Spider-Man

It's snowing. Late December, the trees have lost their color and have been covered in snow. The wind whistles endlessly. Magnolia experiences a cold winter, maybe colder than the others. Christmas is days away, cheery songs are strummed on instruments and sang by the most elegant voices. I know almost everyone in this town. It's not as peaceful as it may appear. Crime lurks through the streets constantly, and it's my job to dispose of it. My name is Jellal Fernandes. For as long as I can remember, I've been the one and only Spider-Man. When I was 14, I was bitten by radioactive spider created in Fairy Corp. I was overcome with insane powers that allowed me to be far more enhanced than the average human. I've always been a good kid, so maybe this was destiny? My aunt Mavis is all I have for a family. When my uncle Zeref died, mourning him brought me to my senses. He wouldn't have wanted me to weep and blame myself. He also wouldn't have wanted me to risk my life every single day with my new profound powers....but he always urged me to do what's right. So maybe putting my life on the line for others can be an exception, right? I have to be stealthy, though. I attend Magnolia High where I'm not typically known, so my chances of being figured out aren't high. I'll lay it out for you.

You have the jocks: Laxus, Sting, Gajeel, Gray, and Natsu.
Laxus is 19. A senior, he leads his pack of jocks like they're dogs. He's mostly a dick to everyone, but we all know he's kind deep down. After all, he has to be. His dad is the principal.
Sting is 17. A junior, he's up Laxus' ass, but refuses to believe he's a follower. The girls think he's charming, but he has a huge crush on someone that nobody knows. He's foreign, from Denmark. That's why he's got the bleach blond hair and amazing tan.
Gajeel is 18. A senior, who doesn't really give a shit about what Laxus has to say. That pisses Laxus off a lot. Nobody would have expected him to be on the football team because he's kind of emo. He likes smart girls, nobody knows why. He once picked a fight with Natsu. Both got suspended for 2 weeks after a nose was broken.
Gray is 18. A junior, people say he should be grouped into the players for his charm with the girls, but he doesn't show interest in them? He's nonchalant. Some say he's focused on one girl now, but nobody knows who. Gray is secretive, so we aren't shocked that nobody knows.
Natsu is 18. A junior, who is goofy as hell with a short temper. Laxus swears he'll beat Natsu up. Everyone wants to see the fight happen since Natsu claims he has the balls to do it. He's super crazy about Lucy. They're not even dating.

The players: Loke, Hibiki, Lyon, and Gildarts.
Loke is 19. A senior, probably has the largest body count in the school. There's rumors that he has an std, but the girls oddly don't care.
Hibiki is 16. A sophomore, the youngest player there is. Nobody knows how he was able to hang around the big kids, must be his luck with the ladies.
Lyon is 18. A junior, they say Gray and Lyon are technically brothers and live in the same foster home. They both deny the rumors. They also oddly love the cold. Maybe they're foreign?
Gildarts is 21. He's obviously a senior, and still in highschool. Nobody knows why he's still here. Some people think he's got a thing with Mrs. Rita.

The artsy kids: Yukino, Rogue, Chelia, Wendy, and Lisanna.
Yukino is 17. A junior, she's super sweet and pretty. Everyone thinks she's got a thing for Sting. Erik once told me that he saw them in B building kissing. I don't believe it though. She's shy, but has the voice of an angel.
Rogue is 17. A junior, Rogue and Sting are twins, but they're fraternal. He's kind of weird but nice. It's funny because Sting is popular and Rogue isn't. He's dating Minerva though, so that gives him some kind of acknowledgement.
Chelia is 16. A sophomore, her best friend is Wendy. She's really kind, but got her growth spurt in the 6th grade. She's had gigantic boobs ever since.
Wendy is 15. A sophomore, she's supposed to be a freshman, but somehow got into the 10th grade. She's sweet and friends with all the older kids. She's my sister. It's embarrassing that my little sister is more popular than me.
Lisanna is 18. A junior, back in the 9th grade, Lisanna and Natsu broke up when they were dating for a really long time. Like since 6th grade. I guess it's just when you get into highschool things change. She's really cute, but nobody is allowed to date her. Mira and Elfman are super protective of her, they're her siblings.

The outcasts: Erik, Juvia, and Levy.
Erik is 19. A senior, he's super chill but doesn't talk to anyone. He's got a couple of friends and I'm his best friend. I think he has his suspicions about me, but I can't afford anyone knowing.
Juvia is 17. A junior, she's nonchalant most of the time and secretive. She's hopelessly romantic. She's really pretty, the guys talk about her curves all the time. All but one, Gray. Everyone thinks it's because he doesn't like her, but I beg to differ. I think he doesn't publicly show his interest in that ONE specific girl because they're secretly dating. Trust me, it's my spidey senses or something.
Levy is 17. A junior, who quite possibly is in a relationship with Gajeel. He kind of denies it, so nobody really cares anyway. That, or they're scared to get in his business. He's insanely protective. She's smart, short, and super quiet.

The "mean girls": Mira, Evergreen, Minerva, Lucy, and Erza.
Mira is 19. A senior, she's the only one who can make Laxus nice. We all think he has a soft spot for her. She's actually really nice, but her past clings to her so hard that people still think she's mean. She does community service for absolutely not reason. Like she's pure.
Evergreen is 19. A senior, completely a bitch. Mira doesn't really like her because she fools around with her brother, Elfman. They were supposed to fight last year. But Mira decided to keep her record clean.
Minerva is 18. A junior, she's the goth girlfriend any guy would want. She's insanely hot, but kind of weird. Her terrible attitude is what ranks her with the mean girls. The only boys she's nice to is Rogue and Sting. She's dating Rogue and they're like the perfect goth couple.
Lucy is 18. A junior, she's super innocent but not really. That's just what she tells people. Everyone knows she's fooling around with Natsu on the low. No one knows why she goes for him and not Gray. She's pretty and nice, but her attitude perceives her as mean.
Erza is 19. A senior, just like me. People say she had a rough home life when she was younger. She's a very kind person and beautiful. She doesn't step into drama unless she has to. I bet she doesn't even know my name. People say she loves Spider-Man.

Then there's me. Jellal Fernandes, your neighborhood hero. I'm 19 years old and a senior at Magnolia High School. I'm not really known, and I like it that way. I study everyone's actions. Like I said, I know everyone. Erik is my best friend, Wendy is my sister, and I live a life of fighting crime and spreading the charm on Erza. Just kidding, she probably doesn't know I exist. I only told you the important people. Anyway, Christmas is in a couple of days and my school has been on winter break. There hasn't been much serious crime lately, just some robbery and stuff.

It's getting late, and I'm cold.
*Jellal leaps from the building he was crouched on, shooting webs to swing his way home. His mask is off, the wind feels like ice hitting his face. He smiles, life is going smoothly right now.
