She was definitely trying to avoid him she thought as she pondered over the latest MSAs. Not because she was intimidated but rather to avoid the drama. For the last two weeks, it had worked pretty well. Leaving David to face the meetings with Cal, while she dealt with him via digital communications or Geoff. That period of peace was about to end with David headed back to Sydney later tonight and she probably couldn't put it off any longer regardless of David's presence.
On the positive side, she thought that it was a good idea for him to be out of Jo's hair. There had been a bit of tension and a certain amount of angst and antagonism between the two. Slightly surprising as she thought he would try to charm his way into her pants and she would just set him back in his place in no uncertain terms. The last scenario she had anticipated was their acute dislike of each other and catching them this morning, squaring off in the kitchen, giving each other murderous stares. Another few more days of David and she might not have a PA. Her phone buzzed on her table.
Date with Marcello
soon remember?

S xoShe stuck her tongue out at Sam via an emoji. He was never going to let her out of this one. Dismissing the thought and her growling stomach, she re-read through the MSAs, concerned with the clause that they were going to be liable for hundreds of millions of dollars for data breaches and compromises. That amount would eternally bankrupt them but also she wasn't sure their insurance company would back that kind of liability. Sighing, she headed down to David's office to catch him before he left for the airport.
Everyone had gone home and she had just enough time to chat with David before having to change for her date. His office light was still on but as she got closer to his door, which was ajar, she realised she heard voices and he wasn't alone. About to push it open, she caught sight of Jo sitting in a chair with legs draped over the arms, and David's head buried between her spread thighs.
"Oh yes more, more, more," Jo whispered while Alex found herself rooted to the spot. Scared of being spotted, shocked and mildly curious at the same time.
"I've been wanting to lick this sweet cunt all day long and I'm going to fuck it until you can't walk tomorrow. Hold your pussy open while I tongue that delicious pink hole....this is what you like isn't Jo? This is what I saw you let that fuckwit do to you at the club."
Alex's eyes rounded. What the fuck. What's going on and what club? She knew Jo was into some kinky stuff....but David? Come to think about it, she wouldn't have a clue what David liked other than fast women. As quietly as possible she stepped away, feeling like she was having a little out-of-body experience. Knowing what she'd just seen and heard can never be undone, she headed back to her office to change, trying to collect her thoughts before heading to the bar around the corner from their offices.
She would have to discuss this with David as soon as she could. He had promised to leave colleagues alone but he'd gone and done a one-eighty on her and his own rules. She was livid at him and certainly annoyed and disappointed at Jo for allowing this to even eventuate.
Stewing over her thoughts, Alex hadn't realised that she had reached the bar until someone called her name and tapped her on the shoulders.
"Hi Alex, I'm Marcello - I said I would spot you didn't I?" Alex turned and faced a fine specimen of a man, made all the more appealing in business attire. Friendly blue eyes gazed back down at her, a smile on his face.
"Oh, hi Marcello! Nice to meet you, what can I get you?" Alex asked, noticing that he was also reciprocating the assessment that she gave him.
"Not a chance, it's my pleasure. I have a table booked in the dining area - shall we head there? It will become busy and noisy later in this area and we won't be able to hear as well." He escorted her, hands gently at her lower back, to the table where he was previously seated.
"Marcello?" A familiar voice called questioningly from behind them. She paused and turned around to the sight of Marcello shaking Cal's hand.
"Hi Cal, what a coincidence!" Marcello exclaimed.
"Yes, rather a surprise - I thought you were still in Stockholm?" Cal looked questioningly between Marcello and Alex, expectant of an explanation.
"No...sudden change of plans but as it turns out, proving to be rather fortuitous." Marcello said looking at Alex. "We're about to head to dinner Cal so you'll have to excuse us but hopefully I'll catch you again soon." Marcello walked them away while she noticed a grim look on Cal's face.
Looking at Marcello curiously and not wanting to highlight the fact that she knew Cal, she asked, "who was that?"
"Oh, just a new business acquaintance. I don't know him well enough though to have any real deep and meaningful conversations with him. Plus he's cutting into our time." He beamed down at her while seating her at their table.
"What line of work are you in Marcello? Sam said he thought you now worked in marketing?" She wondered in what context he'd met Cal.
"Well, it's advertising actually. I'm an account manager for Ogilvie....we're big in the UK, but being new in these parts you may have not heard of them?" He eyed her quizzically.
"I think I'm familiar with the name. Are you enjoying the career change.....do you miss the fashion world?" He really was beautiful, masculine but cosmopolitan in his looks. He could sell advertising by just walking into a room. If he knew Cal then her guess was that one of the companies was providing a service to the other.
"Not really. I did my dash with it and it was time to move on. My previous life has helped me a lot with my current one. Now I enjoy the creative journey with a lot fewer drama queens to deal with. And you Alex? Sam said you run some software empire?" He smiled at her. It's criminal that anyone should look this good.
She laughed. "I would hardly call it an empire.....we certainly dominate the market down under but up here, there's no question that we're the underdog....only way is up I guess." Realising embarrassingly of her unintended double entendre.
"Yes I guess," he chuckled. "And you like it so far in London?"
"Yes I love it so far but I haven't actually been out to explore all that much as I've been busy settling in....and trying to get things off the ground at work."
"Well, maybe I can be the one to show you all that London has to offer? There are so many things to do here...lots of places to explore." He quirked his eyebrow questioningly at her, a genuine smile on his face.
He really is very charming and sweet as Sam says, she thought. Definitely a sight for sore eyes....although he hadn't yet given her any fanny flutters. "Yes sure, that would be lovely."
"Great, that can be our second date?" He looked at her hopefully.
"Sure, where do you plan to take me?" She laughed.
"It's a surprise that you must be patient for." Marcello grinned.
She could get used to this for a while. He was at ease with himself and a good conversationalist. Uncomplicated and charming. She certainly preferred this to a sexually charged battle of will and constantly being highly strung. Their evening continued and ended in the same vein, pleasant company, pleasant food, and a pleasant peck on the cheek. She could do pleasant for a while.
