Fragile Heart

"For my 17 years of existence.."

I started.

"Mhmm?"

Kyungsoo Oppa sipped a bit of my bubble tea again.

"I only had one crush.."

He looked at me as if his eyes were gonna pop out.

"Six years ago.."

This time, he spurted the bubble tea from his mouth which caught the attention of the other members.

"Dont mind me :)"

He faked a smile.

"Hyung, Kyungsoo hyung is weird."

Sehun told Suho Oppa.

"You're alot more weird."

Suho blurted.

Because of that statement, they started another debate

(or should I say fight?)

"You've NEVER had a crush for the last SIX YEARS?!"

He looked at me again with those big eyes.

I just looked down at the table.

"Tell me why."

Kyungsoo Oppa leaned forward to hear me better.

"Well.."

I sighed.

"Rule #3 in my family: No boyfriend until college graduation."

"WHAT?! Thats cruel!"

Kyungsoo Oppa looked at me in disbelief.

"Since Im not allowed to have a boyfriend, I killed the roots of getting attracted to someone. And that means..

NO CRUSH ---> NO BOYFRIEND ---> NO VIOLATIONS ---> NO PUNISHMENT!!

But that also means, no fun + no thrill + no excitement = dull life."

I drew my computations on a piece of tissue paper so that he could understand.

"I controlled my feelings. Which made my heart numb and fragile. Im afraid, Oppa. Im scared to like someone.."

I explained further.

"But you know Yujeong, the heart is stronger than the mind. At the same time, the heart is weaker than it as well."

Kyungsoo started counting his fingers.

"I liked too many people that my 10 fingers cant even count. Not that its a good thing to shift your feelings all the time but, with every person you meet, there is a new experience, a new lesson to learn, and a new heart to love."

I started crying because I am too confused and scared to break the rules.

"Just try it one more time. Like the boy you want to like and be happy :) hurting and feeling pain is a part of the process of having a greater bond."

Kyungsoo Oppa took my hand and placed it on his heart.

"Oppa Im scared to break the rules. Their house, their rules. I must follow."

I said.

"But you're not living with them anymore, remember?"

The last sentence of Kyungsoo Oppa struck me. Does this mean..

"Your house, your rules Yujeong."

He tucked a piece of my hair behind my ear.

"You are young and beautiful. You should enjoy life more okay?"

Kyungsoo Oppa kissed my forehead before standing up to get a refill of bubble tea.
