Heart Strings

Halloween

October 30, 10:27 pm. The four boys and the two girls headed out for trick or treating. Max and El was ketchup and mustard. Lucas and Dustin were skeletons. Lastly Mike was a vampire and Will was a zombie. So far the night was alright but it differently got cold. Will shivered beside Mike as the walk to the rich neighborhood.
"Cant wait to get my hands on the bug bars of musketeers!" Dustin smiled swinging his bag back and forth.
Lucas rolled his eyes, "I swear you're in love with that chocolate bar!"
   As the two boys argued, Will softly whispered to Mike, "I-im getting cold M-mike maybe we should go h-home?"
Mike looked down at the small boy, "I dont wanna go home yet..just a few more houses? pleaseeee?" Will nodded and continued trick or treating.
  After 30 more minutes, Will got weak, he looked at Mike who was having a blast. Will smiled short and turned around. He started walking home clutching his shirt. All of a sudden Will was pushed down by Troy Harrington. Will groaned and tried sitting up only to be pushed down by troys friends.
     "Look at him! Its zombie boy!" Troy teased and kicked him in the stomach. Will felt his world falling as the pain stuck him each time. His eyes filled with water and he closed his eyes. He heard his name being called but he couldn't tell. Will tried opening his eyes but he blacked out.
11:48 pm. Still October 30th.
Will woke up but he was in a different place or it just seemed like that at first. He looked around and noticed it was Mikes basement.
    "Will! your alright??"
Will turned his head to see Mike rushing over to Will. Will nodded to his question. Mike pushed back Wills hair and looked crazily over Wills face and body.
   "A-are you hurt?" He asked worried.
"no.." Will said softly, he noticed he was wearing Mikes hoodie and sweatpants. Will blushed and looked back at Mike.
  Mike nodded, "we can have some of my candy..Troys took yours." Mike sat at the end of the couch as Will sat up. Mike dumped out the candy and they made piles makin it equal for the both of them. Will started eat some, "Mike?"
Mike looked at him with those heart eyes, "Yea?"
   "thanks for saving me from the cold and troy.." Will smiled softly. Mike nodded.
"No problem what are friends for?"
That hit Will hard in the heart. Friend? Not even best friend? What happened? Was Dustin his new friend? Will shook his head and corrected him "best friend." Mike smiled "yea..Will?"
Will hummed.
   " Remember if you go crazy..we go crazy together?"
    "Yea..why?"
Mike looked down and looked in Wills brown eyes.
    "I t-think...No not what I think i know..im crazy. Im crazy in love with you."
12:00 pm November first.
Will blushed and leaned his head on Mikes shoulder.
   "How long?" Mike asked.
"Since we been best friends."
   Mike intertwined his fingers with Wills and smiled.
        "be mine?"
Will nodded and closed his eyes falling asleep happier than a butterfly.
