Rosie, short for Rosamund. Rosie never had the chance to ever know her mother, so instead, she grew up with only her father and Godparents. She rarely begged for something or complained. she rarely spoke her mind, and was fairly reserved, only with three friends from school. she was lucky to have the few friends she had, and most of her classmates found her strange. but could she blame them? Her guardians were far from normal, and that probably rubbed off on her somehow. no matter, her life was enough.
Currently, Rosie peered out the window of a cab, a nervous feeling bubbling in her stomach. Her father was dropping her off at her godfathers home, the one who rarely was around while she was growing up. Not only a week ago she had turned eleven, and her father was leaving for some business trip.
"Dad," she sighed, "Why do I have to stay with Sherlock? Why can't I stay with Molly or Ms.Hudson?"
"Rosie, please, we have been over this. Molly is too busy and Ms.Hudson is Sherlock's landlady, so regardless you'd be around him."
"But he is just so... Weird."
"I was his flatmate for years, I survived somehow."
"Why could I not stay with one of my friends?"
"For a month? I think not."
Rosie sighed, "But I barely know him."
"I know you don't remember him, but he was around more than you think."
"You always say that. why doesn't he ever come over as much as Molly does?"
"He is... busy."
"Molly is busy, but she still visits. What does Sherlock even do?"
"Consulting detective."
"What even is that?"
"When the police can't figure something out, they go to him, more or less."
"I guess that's fun."
The cab stopped Backer street. her father paid the cabbie as Rosie climbed out of the cab, looking at the flat building. The feeling of nervousness erupted from within her, almost driving her insane. She knew nothing about Sherlock, and she was about to spend the next month with him! who wouldn't be nervous?
"Dad," she sighed, "Come on, why can't I come with you?"
" please, your stalling. and the battlefield is no place for children."
"But, you're a doctor, anyways I thought you were done with the soldier stuff."
"It is nothing you can just 'fall out of'."
"Fine, but I still don't see why I could not stay with Molly."
Her father only let out a breathy sigh as he knocked on the door.
It flung open.
"Ms.H!" Rosie greeted, hugging the woman.
"Rosie! oh my, you have gotten so tall!"
"But Ms..H, we just saw each other last Christmas."
"It is June Rosie," Her father spoke up.
"So?" Rosie scoffed.
Her father laughed.
"Sherlock is just upstairs," Ms.H said, leading Rosie up the stairs.
They came to an open door leading to a flat. it was so messy, Rosie was shocked. She thought she was messy, but this, this was nothing in comparison.
