Midnight Pleasure

5. brotherly love

Waking up in the morning was even harder when you have so much on your mind.
Did yesterday really just happen? Did I really get humiliated by Leo's brother and his friends at an engagement party? How will I even face school today without being laughed at?

Today I didn't give my mom chance to come wake me up, I was already up and didn't plan on going back to sleep. My phone clock read: 7:45am
Wow so early :(
Passing my reflection in the mirror looking so rough, i went over to the bathroom and showered and got dressed.
As I reached the bottom of the stairs I could see my mom sitting at the kitchen counter, looking like she'd been waiting for me to get up...

"How are you feeling Chloe?" She asked, the minute my toes touched the cold kitchen floor.
"I'm fine. Why wouldn't I be? I stuttered back.
"Mrs Jenkins, Leo and Flynn's mom called me early this morning to say you had left early crying she wanted to know if you was okay?"
"Oh. Well I'm fine now, just some misunderstanding"I replied.
As she went to move closer to me and reply a rustle came from around the corner in the dining room.

"Hey, how are you Chloe? If something happened yesterday you can tell me. I'm your big bro remember. No secrets. Ever!" Caleb said, putting his arm on my shoulder and giving me a worried look.
I took his hand and pulled him upstairs without making eye contact with anyone! I needed to get away from my mom so I took him into my room;closing the door behind us.

Now he looked even more concerned.

"Okay, I'm telling you this because I trust you wont tell mom. It's not a big deal I just don't won't her to worry, okay?"
"You're scaring me Chloe, just tell me!"
"Yesterday, at the engagement party Leo has an older brother called Flynn and well he.. he took me up to his room-
"WHAT! I SWEAR IF HE-
"CALEB! shut up! Mom will hear you. He didn't touch me...exactly! Just please let me finish, remember I trust you!"

Caleb went over and sat on my bed, keeping constant eye contact with me. Waiting for me to carry on.
I couldn't stop fiddling but then I carried on...

"As I was saying, he took me up to his room after saying that he thought I'd chose the wrong brother or something? Obviously implying that he thought I was dating Leo. He did come close to me at one point and yes I thought he was going to kiss me. I can't say if I would've pulled away or not I just don't know. I was scared. So I went over to the balcony and looked over at the view and it was just beautiful! But me being in the moment his friends must of been in on this little "game" and were all recording me, laughing. It was blur. But I do remember some of them saying that I was "cheating on Leo" and that Flynn's a "babe magnet" or something for bringing me up. So yeah, that's what happened. Not a big deal."

Silence filled the room for a while.
Why was he so angry? Nothing had happened.
Then in a sudden moment:

"JUST WAIT TILL I GET MY HANDS ON HIM, I SAID NOT MY SISTER and look what he's done!"
I'd never seen Caleb so furious over something so 'little' but I had to calm him down by hugging him.

Wait, does Caleb know Flynn?

"Do you know Flynn or something? I asked anxiously.
"Yes, he's good friends with some of my friends so we've hung out before a couple of times. He's also on the football team. But he constantly likes to joke about girls, making out he's some weapon with the ladies and can get anyone he wants. He mentioned you the other day."

"KIDS, HURRY UP! YOU'RE GONNA BE LATE!" Mom shouted, luckily she shouldn't  of heard anything as she was out getting ice of the car.

"Um, what did he say? And why didn't you tell me?"
I asked, annoyed.

"He was just bragging how he'd been sleeping with jade in our Spanish class but at the same time been messaging a girl named Maddie in the year below. But then looked at me and said I bet I could even get Chloe if I wanted too! So i grabbed him and told him if he ever laid a hand on you I'd kill him!"

"Omg what! Caleb he's not worth it, he's just trying to get a reaction out of-
I could hear the sound of my moms high heels coming up the stairs towards us so I quickly walked out, calmly, passed her and went into the car.
Today she was taking both of us for a change which felt odd and quite intimidating; as I could feel the hot sensation of her eyes watching me in the mirror.

"Chloe, are you going to tell me what you told your brother or am I going to have to force it out of you!"she said very sternly.

"Fine I'll tell you! Basically me and India had an argument over who was using what and it just upset me so I came home! I didn't want to tell you because if we made up today you'd moan at me for causing a big scene at Mrs Jenkins house!"

You could say I'm an A* at lying. But I didn't want to, I just couldn't tell her the truth!

"Oh bless you Chloe! Don't ever feel like you have to keep anything away from me! I'm your mother, I'm meant to be here for you through thick and thin!"
I felt bad, but I just smiled and looked out the window as I couldn't stop the nerves of the unknown; who knew what would happen today!

When we arrived at school, Leo, India and Sienna were waiting but the entrance for me all looking concerned :(
I ran over to them and gave them a huge hug to reassure them I was fine.
"Flynn told me what he did. He wanted me to tell you he is sorry, whether that is a fake or real apology I'm not sure. But on his behalf I'm very sorry! I wish I'd known you was up there!" Leo explained.
"Honestly Leo it's fine! I'm over it now, I just want to move on and enjoy my time with you guys!"

Two classes later..

It was break finally, history and french dragggeddd But I felt a lot better about everything and felt I could finally move-

"What is all that shouting Sienna asked. Come on let's go have a look"
We all ran with the crown around the corner of the hallway; of course a fight, wonder who it is today...
"I can't see, who is it?"I asked around.
"I don't know, I think it's two guys tho!" India said pulling me closer.

"CHLOE! ITS FLYNN AND CALEB!!"
