Amber's pov:

"Luke? "

"Not Luke." I heard a aussie voice say. Without even looking I knew who it was. I pulled away from my knees. Hair was stuck in my face when I looked into his hazel eyes.

"Ash? " I whispered.

He reached forward and brushed hair away from my face. He had a concerned sad expression. I looked away. I wanted to say something, but there was nothing I could say as the tears kept coming.

"Amber what happened?" He said, his concern evident in his voice. I turned back towards my knees and sobbed.

"Just-just go away Ash." I mumble into my legs.

"No." He states, and I know he won't leave. I feel myself being lifted of the floor. I look to Ash in confusion as I realized that he was carrying me. He pulled me into the bedroom Luke's mom said I could stay in and set me on the bed. He takes a seat next me and gives me a hug from the side.

When the tears finally stop, he pulls back from me and looks me right in the eyes. I can only imagine how horrible I must look right now. The mascara streaks down my face, lip gloss smudged, hair stuck to my tear stained cheeks, puffy red eyes. Yeah, real sexy. Thank God it wasn't Luke who found me.

"You ready to tell me what's wrong?" He says softly. The genuinely worried look on his face and the kindness in his voice is what made me break down. I told him everything, EVERYTHING. The entire truth. I told him my history with my mom, about the concert, running away, the kiss with Calum, the undefined feelings, telling Luke I love you, and all her phone calls. He just sat and listened, and I was so glad. When I was done, the tears were running down my face again. He reached out and crushed me to him.

"Don't listen to your mom. She's wrong, okay? She's a drunk, she doesn't know what she's doing. You're with us now. You have Luke, who loves you and we all enjoy your company. Okay? " he says, his voice a little muffled by my hair. He pulls away and looks into my eyes.

"Please, ju-just don't send me back. Don't let her find me. And please, don't tell any of the other boys, especially Luke. They don't need to know about this, okay?" I choke out. My voice is still very shaky from the crying.

"Of course, Amber. You can trust me. This secret will be between us, I promise." He says with a smile. I can't help smiling back; it's contagious. He pats my shoulder and leaves the room. He's like a big brother. He's always there for me and the rest of the boys. Thank god he won't tell anyone about all this. I wipe at my face and yawn. I stumble to the bathroom and washed my face. I looked even worse than I imagined, but felt a lot better. My phone was vibrating in my pocket. I shut my phone off and plugged it in. I layed on the bed and replayed Luke telling me 'I love you' until I drifted off to sleep.

Ashton's pov:

I patted Amber's shoulder and started walking out the big  room. It's hard to see Amber like that. She looked utterly defeated and heartbroken. She doesn't deserve to have a history like that. It's hard to carry a burden like that. I feel like I've taken her under my wing now. I have to watch out for her now, make sure no one finds out until she's ready for them to know.

I walked out the room and down the hallway. I turned a corner and almost ran into someone.

"Calum? What are you doing?" I whispered, in case Amber was listening.

"Were you listening?"

"Well, you guys weren't exactly quiet. But don't worry, I won't say anything. I care too much about her to do that."
