Jungkook's POV

Yesterday, Jeni insisted that we go out for a drive around the town.

BEGINNING OF FLASHBACK

I asked why, but she never answered, just pushed me out the door.

I sighed as I sat in the car, pulling the seat belt around me and fastening it with a click.

Jeni plopped into the passenger seat, a grin stretching across her face.

I gripped the steering wheel, turning on the ignition.

Then I pushed down on the pedal, and the car started.

We rolled down the streets, Jeni blabbering on about something.

I wasn't paying attention though.

Lately I've been feeling kind of distant from Jeni.

I don't feel as close to her as before.

I could've broken up with her, but I didn't want to make her feel bad.

So we were still dating.

I feel a closer connection to Taehyung though.

Not just as friends would, but something more.

The way his boxy smile lit up a room, and his bubbly personality filled me with happiness.

He made me overjoyed.

I smiled to myself, Jeni's voice a blur in the background somewhere.

Jeni- "Yah! Are you listening? Should I buy the necklace or not? You know what, I will. I don't need your opinion," she huffed.

Her screechy voice made me flinch as it rang through my ears.

I just nodded slightly as I continued staring at the road.

It definitely isn't good to daydream while driving, so I shook my thoughts away and focused solely on what was in front of me.

Me- "So um, anywhere specific you wanna go?"

Jeni- "Hmm." She smirked. "How about this neighborhood? They have a nice little park."

She brought out her phone and read me the name of the street.

Why does that sound familiar?

I tried not to question it as she guided me to the neighborhood.

We drove into it, and I suddenly remembered.

This is where Taehyung lives!

Me- "Oh, Tae lives here. Wanna say hi or something?"

She furrowed her eyebrows, shaking her head. I took that as a no.

I sighed, eventually finding the little park.

I parked the car and we both got out, walking to a nearby bench.

It was pretty hot today, and I already felt the heat kicking at my head.

If I'm in the heat for too long, I get a headache.

So outdoor birthday parties in the summer were never my piece of cake.

I sat down on the warm wooden bench, thankful that it was wood and not metal.

Jeni plunked down next to me, letting out a satisfied sigh.
