Once again the feeling of madness engulfed me as my body was hot on fire. The more I reached deeper into my power the less I controlled it. I was so consumed by it, it was hard to keep in mind what I had to do in this mission.
I forced myself to open the grey door. The room was chaotic, soldiers pointing guns to one another and people running scared of the bullets. But when I came in everybody stopped.
"You're too late" A Soldier said "They already have been launched." Rage consumed my body as I ran towards him. I dodged the bullets - perks of training with Natasha - and reached under a desk after I turned off the fire. A blonde woman was hiding by my side as we watched HYDRA's agents leave the room.
"You're Olivia Grace." She said "We are with you and the Captain. I'm Sharon Carter. You can count on me."
I smiled and thanked her.
As soon as the agents left we got out of the hiding spot. I went to one of the computers, trying to deactivate the launch. But, as he said, I was too late.
"Is there a way I can contact with the Captain?" I ask.
"If he's wearing a listening device connected to S.H.I.E.L.D.'s internet then we might be able to talk to him."
"Okay, can you do that for me?" I turn back to the computer "I'll try to access HYDRA's files and find a way to block the helicarriers."
"Sure, got it." Sharon said focussing on the computer.
I only hope I do this right. This is my last chance.
"I did it, Grace. You're on Rogers' and Romanoff's ears" She said and I nodded.
"Nat? Steve? This is Olivia, can you hear me?"
"Liv?" Steve replied "Is this really you? Where are you?"
"Olivia, thank God you're alive!" Natasha said.
"I'm here at SHIELD too, guys, trying to get into their database to block HYDRA's systems."
"I wanted to go and find you, but we couldn't, not until this was resolved..." Steve worried voice made my heart beat faster than usual. I smiled shyly.
"No worries, Cap, I'm okay"
"Liv, did you find anything?" Nat asks.
"Yes, and you're not going to like it. The helicarriers have to be stoped manually, inside them"
"I'm on it." Steve says.
"Steve, you'll need one of SHIELD's flash drives, I don't know where you can get one."
"Fury already gave us, Liv" Steve replied.
"What? How could he? He's dead!"
"I'm afraid I'm not in the grave yet, Miss Grace" I heard Fury's voice through the speaker.
"D-Director Fury? How is it possible?"
"It's a long story, child."
"Hey, we're in trouble!" Sam's voice shouts through the radio. "Bucky is here!"
"Who is Bucky?"
"The Winter Soldier." Sam says "And Steve's best friend. I mean, not right now, he just threw Steve out of the helicarrier."
"What? Steve knows him?" I ask.
"Yeah, apparently they were best friends back in the day." Nat says.
