Eeeeeeeek! It was finally here. Monday morning was usually greeted with miserable, tired, can't be assed Millie, but today was an exception. She woke up early, she had stayed at Ricco's all weekend preparing for her big day. Ricco was still asleep, mouth wide open!
"You're so attractive, babe," she whispered sarcastically. Getting out of bed she crept out of his room, quietly closing the door behind her. She tiptoed into the open plan kitchen/lounge and flicked on the kettle, she flinched at how loud the switch was, freezing for a second to see if she had woken Ricco. She couldn't hear any movement, being quiet or careful wasn't one of her fortes! She walked over to the window and looked out, like his bedroom the entire wall was floor to ceiling glass with a balcony off one side. She loved waking up in his apartment. She made a cup of tea and took it outside on the balcony. It was a gorgeous, warm spring morning. Still in Ricco's t-shirt the sun felt warm on her bare legs, she put them up on the chair next to her to get some sun for five minutes. She tied her long hair up on top her head and leaning back in her chair she closed her eyes and just listened to the busy city below. Her thoughts turned to her day ahead. She thought she would be really nervous but instead she was just excited. It was going to be a hectic day but with the sun already shining she felt confident today would be a good day.
Ricco opened the balcony door, Millie jumped a mile, spilling her tea on her bare legs! "Ouch!" she shouted, jumping out of the chair. "Jesus! You scared me!" she said.
Ricco stepped out onto the balcony; Millie couldn't help but look him up and down. Man! What a body! With messy bed hair he looked so sexy! A snug fitting bright white t-shirt clung to his abs showing the definition of his six pack, his tight black designer boxers shorts showed off his manly muscular thighs. His gorgeous after-shave fragrance surrounded Millie's senses.
"You're so wasted being gay," she joked. She felt like she told him that on a daily basis but it was true!
He smiled. "Cuppa tea on the table for you," she added.
"Ta, babe," he replied, lifting her legs as he slumped down in the chair next to her and putting them down on his lap. He rubbed his eyes, he hadn't quite woken up properly yet and it was already so bright out. He seemed quiet, almost irritated by something.
"You okay?" asked Millie.
"Yeeeeeeah," he replied, mid-yawn. "Just had a disappointing phone call, that's all. No biggy," he explained. Millie wondered what it was but knew better than to push a grumpy Italian!
"So, big day," he smiled, squinting to see her with the sun shining right in his eyes. She pulled her legs back onto her chair, putting her arms around them she pulled her knees into her chest, resting her chin on her knees. She breathed out heavily.
"You'll be fine," he said. "It'll be good," he added, rubbing her head as he got up. Millie followed him back inside. She picked up her schedule for the day off the breakfast bar and read through it.
"Wow," she said to herself, feeling slightly overwhelmed by her jam-packed schedule. Today wasn't quite going to be her normal 9-5! Butterflies were swirling around her stomach making her feel nauseous. She held the paper in front of her and stared blankly at the schedule for a minute, not taking it in at all. She shook her head as if to bring herself back to reality. Folding the paper she put it back on the counter and looked at her watch; 7.32am.
"Arrgh! I need to shower," she said, walking away down the hallway. In a sudden realisation of what was about to happen she turned back.
"Ri, you'll be with me all day won't you?" she asked. She knew she would feel so much more confident with him by her side.
