IT HAD Been three weeks since Doug had broken things off with Evie for the daughter of the sworn enemy of her mother, and to say that she was still extremely sour would be an understatement. Evie walked briskly to Ben's office, her six-inch blue heels clicking noisily on the ground. Her arms swung by her side, her hands clenched into a fist, covered by her fingerless gloves. Her denim cropped jacket hugged her otherwise bare shoulders. The strapless knee-length dress she wore was a midnight blue, sprinkled in silver glitter, and had a red heart with a sword through the middle on a thin belt around her waist. She pulled out a small compact mirror and checked her appearance, smoothing her long loose hair down. She sighed- the compact mirror was not as good her magic mirror, but it would have to do for now. She stopped at the door, and let out another long sigh, before rapping her fist impatiently against the door. Without waiting, she opened the door, immediately regretting that decision and wishing she had opened the door later or had waited a few more seconds. In front of her, her best friend, Mal, and Ben were holding an intense make-out session, and hadn't noticed the blue-haired beauty. She cleared her throat and the couple finally looked up, quite embarrassed. Mal's face turned turned a bright shade of pink, and Ben flustered to say something.

"Ah-ah-ah, don't let me interrupt, I'm just going to cancel the meeting and let you guys continue your-erm...session. Bye," Evie promptly turned around and walked out of the room, slamming the door shut behind her. As she walked back to her shared dorm, she just happened to see Doug kiss Sadie (Snow White's daughter), and she felt bile rise in her throat. She quickly turned around and kept walking, safely making it to her dorm's hallway. She dug through her purse trying to find her key, and looked up for a split second, noticing her door was open. She muttered under her breath and peeked into her shared room. Her action did not go unnoticed, and Jane reached around to grab her arm, pulling her into the bedroom and closing the doors.

"Evie, I really, really, really, really need your help with something," Jane looked at her with pleading eyes.

"Sure! What do you need?"

"Since your Mal's best friend, I thought you would be a good person to ask."

"So then, what's the question?" Evie sat down at her desk and began sewing on last minute accessories to the dresses.

"What cake flavor would she like, and what party favor?"

"Strawberry cake and pen toppers."

"Okay, thank you," Jane scribbled down notes on her tablet, and started walking out of the room. She stopped at the doorway and turned around. "Oh, and can I ask you one more question?"

"Ask away," Evie offered a friendly smile.

"If you were to ask someone to Cotillion, how would you do it?" The question caught Evie off guard, and the needle pricked her finger. She sucked on her finger and thought out her answer carefully.

"Well, personally, I would straight up ask him, and if he rejects me, I'd know he wasn't the one for me," She answered gently. "Jane, you're gorgeous and smart, who wouldn't accept you?" Jane brightened up visibly and snatched the bluenette into a hug, smiling like the cheshire cat. She let go and pat her shoulders, running out of the room, yelling out a 'thank you'. Evie smiled and closed the doors again, before dropping the facade. She sighed deeply and went back to sewing.
