CARLOS WAnted to ask Jane to Cotillion, but he couldn't find the courage nor muster up the strength to walk up to fairy and ask her to be his date. So, naturally and wisely, he went to get advice from a helpless romantic. He knocked on Evie's door, hoping she was there.
"Come in!" Came a familiar shout inside the room. So Carlos opened the door and stepped inside the room. He had to squint his eyes against the sudden brightness of the room. When his eyes adjusted, he took a good look around the room. The curtains were thrown wide open, letting in the bright golden sunlight, there were clothing racks in every corner of the room, packed with dresses of various colors and styles, with crows and pins hanging on the bar above the racks. At first, he didn't notice Evie, until he saw an especially puffy dress move. She was moving around the dress, fluffing it out, and taking in the view from all angles. Silver pins stuck out of her mouth, and a long and thin tape measurer hung around her neck. She noticed Carlos and smiled warmly at him. She stepped over to him and took the pins out of her mouth, setting them on her desk.
"What brings you here?"
"I-i-i, uhhh, I need advice," he stammered, color rising to his cheeks. Evie raised an eyebrow.
"On what?"
"How to ask Jane to be my date." Unlike she was with Jane, Evie was not caught off guard with the request, as it was well known of the boy's fondness of the Fairy Godmother's daughter.
"That's funny, Jane came in here earlier asking me the exact same thing," she pretended to look thoughtful, tapping her chin, before answering her own question sarcastically, "I don't know Carlos she may not want to go with you." His face fell.
"Really," he asked her sadly.
"Of course not, didn't you hear what I just said? Just go and ask her, I'm sure she'll say yes."
"Okay! Thank you Evie!" He ran out of the room, like Jane had, and he ran to find her. After running around a few corridors and getting many dirty looks and open stares he finally found the girl he was looking for.
"Jane! Jane! I've been looking for you," Carlos panted, leaning on a locker to his left.
"Oh, hi Carlos! I have actually been looking for you, too," Jane said semi-nervously. "I have to ask you something."
"Yeah, me too."
"Okay, you first."
"Will you go to Cotillion with me, like, as my date?" Carlos played with his fingers nervously, waiting for her response.
"What? Yes! Yes, of course! It's just funny because I was going to ask you the same thing," Jane said with a laugh.
"Awesome!" Carlos laughed as well, "then, I guess I'll pick you up later."
