Lola's POV

I woke up, feeling like shit. I had a huge headache due to the lack of sleep I got. I couldn't sleep because of him. I tried to go to sleep, but I just couldn't stop thinking about Luke. He was just so beautiful on the outside, but a major douche on the inside. A small of me was proud of myself for walking away, but a really big part of me really regrets it. I don't know why, it's just hard to explain why I'm so attracted to him.

I slowly got out of bed and checked the time. It was only 10:30, I could go back to bed but I need to go to the grocery store and get more food for my mom and I. I then walked into my bathroom and took a nice and long hot shower. When I got our, I actually felt really refreshed and ready to start the day. I went to my closet and took out a long sleeved burgundy shirt and light wash tight skinny jeans with black ankle boots. I quickly changed and decided to just go natural go without any makeup and leave my hair in its wavy form. I quickly left the house, trying not to disturb my mom and wake her up. She works way too hard so I want her to get her sleep. I hopped into my my car and drove to the grocery store.

I finally arrived at the grocery store. It was raining outside a little so I quickly jogged inside. I grabbed a basket and went to the freezer aisle. My mom never has time to cook during the week so I usually just buy a lot of microwaveable junk. I went to the end of the aisle and found some pasta that I liked and I tried to reach it, but it was way too high up for me. Like I said, I'm only 5'0 so literally everything is too high up for me. Then, a muscular tanned arm grabbed the pasta and set it down in my basket. I turned around and found a tall boy with dark brown curly hair smiling down at me.

"Oh, um, thank you. That was sweet.." I said with a small smile.

The boys smile got even bigger. "No problem," He replied.

"I'm Chase!" He said while reaching over his arm. I shook it and told him, "Hi, my name is Lola. Thank you again, that was really nice of you." I said, my smile getting a little bigger. This Chase guy was actually sweet, unlike Luke....No! I honestly need to get him out of my mind...but it's so hard.

"Well Lola, it was really nice to meet you. You look familiar actually, what a school do you go to?" He asked.

"Oh, I go to North Union High School."

"No way, I go there too! I'm a senior." He said, his smile getting even bigger, which was really adorable. Not as adorable as Lukes smi-No!

"Oh really? That's so cool! I'm a junior." I said, tucking a loose strand of hair behind my ear.

"Well Lola, I really hope I see you at school. Maybe we can meet up, yeah?" He asked hopefully.

"That would be great, actually." I replied. Maybe Chase could be a possible distraction from you-know-who.

"See you at school," He said, giving me a hug which surprised me, then heading out of the aisle, turning around and giving me a small wave before leaving.

This actually surprised me. No guy has ever made effort to talk to me the way he did.

I grabbed my phone out of my

pocket so that I could check and see if my mother is alright. I wasn't paying attention to where I was going, my eyes on my phone, which caused me to bump into someone. Luckily, they caught me by my waist before I dropped and hurt myself.

"Oh my God, thank you for catching me..." I said. I looked up, and a small gasp came out of my mouth. I was staring into the same pair of piercing blue eyes that haunted me last night.
